I know that adjusting to a new name is a serious undertaking for most people, but the common use of an individual's god name does not seem to be wide spread. Admittedly, my sample size is still relatively small, but most of the other gods I have met thus far have introduced themselves with their mortal names first, and then given their god name second. Is this because many have not yet adjusted to the new name, or are we not supposed to use our god names?
I'm making the adjustment myself, and I think it would be easier if I was a little more informed about what my relationship with my god name is meant to be. I, personally, am perfectly comfortable with dropping my old title in favor of Hermes, but if it's something meant for followers only, I can adjust my expectations accordingly.

In short, professional heroism is a self-centered grab for attention.

This is Stain's reasoning all over again. That the only true heroes are the ones that put other's needs before their own, the ones that would run to help anybody just as soon as they're needed- the ones that didn't do it for money and fame. The ones who became heroes because they wanted to help people, heroes like All Might.
Under this logic it leaves him with All Might, Shouto and himself for certain. Probably a handful of his classmates, and some of his teachers, though he's not close enough to all of them to place them here for certain.
Though he doesn't know if Sonic's actually gone out and murdered any heroes himself. He hopes not.]
Maybe some heroes are just there for the fortune and fame, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still out there helping people. Without them the world would be a more dangerous place to live with elevated levels of destruction and crime.
They do provide a service and are paid for it, like the police or firefighters. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that.

There isn't the same glamour associated with the police or firefighters. You're right, in that they do certainly provide a necessary service, but I feel many are under-qualified for the positions they seek to fill. They play at justice and heroism, but far too often become little more than cannon fodder to a stronger opponent. They throw their lives away, and for what? A few moments in the spotlight?
Furthermore, it creates a system of reliance in the average person that is problematic. When heroes fall, the scared masses huddle and cling together like lambs before the slaughter. They make no effort to save themselves, simply because they expect a hero to always do it for them. I have watched it happen, and I am not okay with that.

Cannon fodder? Under-qualified...? He can't think of a single pro-hero that was under-qualified for the job. Some have been overpowered by certain villains, but those are the villains that take the number one or two top heroes to stop anyway. It's unfair to judge people that way.]
If somebody wants to become a pro hero they have to be accepted into hero school in high school, and they learn their hero training on top of a rigorous academic program. I've never heard of a pro hero who failed immediately after graduating.
[And if anybody would know, Deku would. He's always paid attention to all of the new heroes.]
I haven't seen anyone huddle and cling like that. People will do what they're able, but when the situation becomes too difficult for them to handle, that's when heroes are called in. Heroes are a symbol of peace, and something that gives hope.

And the S Class heroes are a group of egotistical assholes who wouldn't know how to work together if the world depended on it.
But perhaps your heroes are better trained and utilized more effectively. I'd be surprised, but I'm willing to consider the possibility.

They just have numbers.
1. All Might (Deku's personal hero)
2. Endeavor (Todoroki's father. Terrifying to be next to. Very imposing.)
And so on and so forth. Monsters have only recently become a problem, and even then, they're artificial humans, and not exactly monsters. There are villains running about, but they tend to just be other humans with destructive quirks.]
That's an interesting system. It doesn't seem very effective.
Where I'm from heroes have quirks that enable them to be more effective in certain situations, and they're called on for during those. There are heroes for rescue situations, and heroes that specialize into specific kinds of rescue situations. They all train for the basics, rescue missions, fighting, dealing with diverse environments and working with other heroes. Even people they might not get along with, they have to at least be able to work with professionally. Civilian's safety is more important than a feud between heroes.
No. 13, the Space Hero, has the quirk Black Hole, which allows him to create a black hole from his fingers and uses it to clear away debris during disasters. Of course, he had to go to hero school to learn how to use it because black holes are highly volatile and has the capacity to kill people if not carefully used. He knows how to work with his quirk effectively with several other heroes, if they're in that kind of situation as well.

Quirks are... I'm not sure if we have something analogous? There are humans with extraordinary abilities, like myself, but they are largely physical abilities, or mechanical enhancements. And a few espers. Admittedly, my knowledge is limited and I try to avoid contact with heroes whenever possible. They make my jobs unnecessarily complicated.
I can tell you that our Black Hole Hero is simply a jumped up asshole in a black tank top who claims to be able crush things with the force of a black hole. From what I've seen of him, however, he mostly runs around stroking his own ego and picking on those he perceives as weaker than himself.
I might be able to admire your heroes, but the majority of mine are simply trash.
