[What? He doesn't sleep!]

I haven't been here long but my god vanished before I ever got to meet him which makes me wonder: what the hell is a shinki good for? What are we supposed to do? Is there any point in serving a god if they can just vanish?

[An audible, frustrated sigh.]

Doesn't it?

[She's met Mikoto, and she agrees, but it's Schuldig she's really talking about here.]

Anyway. Have you found a new god yet? Or are you still looking?
skepticstarbuck: (let's try this again)

Well, for one thing, the Heavens don't seem to bother to provide shinki with food, shelter and funds.

[That's up to their gods, which means a shinki with no god is self-supporting... and being self-supporting as an amnesiac ghost with no savings is a tough position to be in.]

Where have you been staying?

That's not so bad. Why aren't you working with him, then?
skepticstarbuck: (not again)

There have to be better ways to protest.

[Refusing to participate in the Heavens' strange game of humans play-acting as gods: that's something Scully can understand and appreciate. Unilaterally disarming when they are in genuine potential danger?

Not so much.]

Is it because he doesn't like the way the Heavens force us into this kind of thing? Or does he have some other reason?

That's frustrating.

[Still, she may have to go look that guy up. If she's right about his motivations, she approves of him, sight unseen.]

If you have a place to stay that does remove the obvious reason for finding a god. Are you thinking of getting one anyway? Or not?
skepticstarbuck: (watchful)

I think that's a little like asking the meaning of life. The point of a shinki is doing what you want to do as a shinki.

I've found my god's not hard to work with. I don't think I'd have done as well on my own.

As far as I'm concerned, if my god kept me from pursuing my goals without a good reason, I'd want a new god.

We're people, not tools.
