Sorry for that... Extended absence. I collapsed while caring for the sacred fire. Gave my shinki a bit of a scare.

[He laughs a little, but it turns into a cough.]

Basically, I burned myself out. Any of you have advice on what to do while you're supposed to be resting? I'd appreciate it; nice as this vacation is, I'm gonna go stir-crazy here.

What's magical girl mean? Is it directly magical girls, or are there more implications?

I'm only responsible for Samurai Lamento, the other two are from Barry

It's directly magical girls. Girls who get magic either from an outside source or an internal one and fight monsters and villains with it.

Spirit Keeper Saika is one of the older ones, and it's held up really well.

I take it you're not from a world where magic is real?

Yeah.

Well, sort of? People have quirks, powers like turning off gravity or creating and controlling ice, but it's not really magic. Those are biological functions.

That sounds pretty magical to me. We have spells to do those things back home, like Blizzard and Gravira.

Each person can usually only do one of those things, so I guess it seems less like magic to me?

Well, some of us specialize. I'm not super good with magic, but I can manipulate fire.

That's amazing! Fire is really powerful, but it can be difficult to control.

I can do it with my partner, but I'm not as good as it as he is.

You've got that right! But I've been doing this for 11 years, so it's not hard for me anymore.

Fire and ice are both part of my partner. It's a little opposite, but it's his and we can work with it.
