Hello everyone, I hope that I'm doing this right. I will admit, I'm still getting used to using this, so please be patient with me.
I was curious, for those who struggle with reading or writing here: do you have any tips? I feel like I'm slowly making progress, but it's frustrating when you can't read most of what you find in the library. I think I saw something about learning, but I may be mistaken.
Alternately, is there anyone who wants to put together small study groups for those of us who aren't as proficient with reading and writing in Japanese? Does something like that exist? If not, would anyone be interested?

English comes easily to me, but I think Japanese feels more natural somehow, so I'd guess it's my first language. The writing system is more complex than in English, but there are ways to help yourself remember it better!
Don't worry about repaying me. If I can help, I'll be happy with that.

In that case, maybe I can help you with any gaps you may have in English, provided I know it well enough myself, and you can assist me with Japanese? This seems like a good exchange.
And I won't hear any of it. If you are going to help me with something, I want to do the same for you. Which reminds me; when would you like to begin our lessons? We have some room here at our church, and more than enough space for sword training. I'm not entirely sure what you might need for dance practice.

I don't know that it's really that there are many gaps in my English, it's just that it doesn't... feel like it fits quite as well, I think? I would be happy to practice it with you, if you want, though.
Anytime you're ready to start would be fine with me. Your church sounds better than our temple, though -- the cats tend to get a little bit underfoot here, if you're not very careful. I'm sure we could find a place there to dance, you don't really need much in terms of equipment for most styles.
