i learned alot of stuff about shinki and blight
why do gods get blight when their shinki get blight? thats not fair
is there some way to stop that cause i wanna fight without hurting mrick

[Voice]

[The post switches to voice a moment after because Goten isn't that good at writing but he wanted to be sure to get two gods attention. Writing was better for that right?]

Kairi is really strong and doing her best for you and everyone else you know! Shes the best exemplar ever so she should be exemplar! I don't wanna be an exemplar if she isn't one too! The exemplar thing is dumb if the best shinki is the first shinki a god gets! That's cheating!

[There's a small pause as Goten remembers something]

Oh! Oh and Roxas, Aymeric! Neither of you can get mad at Kairi! Yeah! She really helped me out a lot with that prayer and I'd be ayakashi food without her!

[Goten's head ducks more at the word 'blight', trying to keep his full attention on Mandragonra. He doesn't want to talk about this but he does need to apologize to Aymeric. If what Kairi said before was correct then he had to of stung him, like Kairi did to Roxas.]

Kairi didn't do anything. She just helped me with a prayer of yours and we ran into an ayakashi...

[His voice gets quieter as he stops petting Mandragonra and instead just holds the feline.]

I'm sorry Aymeric. I'm really really sorry, I didn't know that me getting blighted hurt you.

You two...went out to do a prayer?

[Well, the temple was quieter than usual. But Goten needs to see that Aymeric is not in fact angry or furious at the gesture. Taking a finger to the boy's chin, he slightly nudges to get his attention. He won't force him to look at him but it's more of a gentle suggestion.]

I had no knowledge that you wished to do such a task. Why did you not come and tell me? And you need not worry about myself being hurt, I would be upset if you had gotten injured.

[Goten lifts his head with the nudge, glancing up nervously and guiltily. He just wants to sink into the ground.]

'cause I'm little. I didn't think you'd let me do them.

[Goten is constantly reminded of his age. With Archie, he didn't get to do too much because he was a child.]

B-but I thought that if I did some of your prayers that it'd keep you from disappearing like everyone else... We got it done, sort of, but I think I got Kairi in trouble and I didn't mean to. I just didn't want to lose you... but we got blighted and kairi said that it hurts you...

[Oh child...so that is the reason why.]

And so you wished to prove you are more than your years show.

[And he can see it now. Who did not wished to prove themselves worthy of a cause no matter how long they were on this star or another? Everyone walks down that path at one point in their lives and this is no different. And upon hearing how others disappeared, it did hurt his heart a little. How many did Goten know and vanish without a word? That was probably the moment when he decides to not hold back on particular emotions and gingerly wrap his arms around the small boy.

Yes, it's a hug. And because of it, Mandragora decides to jump away because squished kitty is a bad idea.]

I will not withhold the truth and say that it wasn't a matter that concerned me at first because it was. However, when we met, you spoke of sparring and how you were able to use 'chi'. While the concept is unknown to me, it showed that you have knowledge and the ability to defend yourself. Not only that, you demonstrated initiative to take on a task and to ensure you had a plan.

[It was reckless, true but Aymeric can see both the good and bad of it all. Also he'll send a message to Kairi thanking her for watching him.]

However, I would like to go with you in the future. While it was brave of you and Kairi to face an ayakashi and come back almost unscathed, I also wish to prove to you that I am capable as well.

[The hug comes as a surprise to Goten. If anything he was expecting Aymeric to be upset or scold him more. Goten knows what he did was wrong. He ran off with a prayer without telling Aymeric, then got Kairi and himself in danger. But here Aymeric was pulling him into an embrace. Goten remains still for a few seconds as his face is smushed against Aymeric. His eyes start to sting and a soft sniffle escapes as he tries to will back the threat of tears. It'd be easier to do so without his god hugging him.

Slowly, Goten curls into the Commander and wraps his small arms around him tightly as he buried his face. There's the tiniest of nods at the mention of going together next time.]

You don't have to prove anything...y-you're great.

[Goten's words come muffled but he does his best to say them loud enough so they're clear.]

[He wasn't sure if Goten would pull him away but feeling his arms return the gesture, Aymeric was glad that he chose correctly. But he can't help but shake his head. No, he isn't great but to a kid, he may be. And he doesn't like the mindset of gods being superior than their shinki. It's just like the highborn and lowborn classes before the truth of the war came out.]

Nay, I have done nothing. They may have given me the title of god but I see myself anything but. And we are to be partners, are we not? That means we work together as equals, not anything less. Just as you tried to show your strength, I wish to show you mine.

[Goten sits there, curled into Aymeric. His fingers curl tightly into the god's clothing as if that would be enough to keep Aymeric here with him. The prayer didn't go as planned. A lot was learned at the cost of making mistakes. But maybe that's okay because Aymeric is right here. He's not mad. Hearing the mention of bring 'partners' makes Goten nods again. Being partners and being able to help his god is what Goten does want. He knows he's small and young. That has been an issue in the past but maybe not here. With Aymeric, he won't have to push to prove he's ready to help him. He can go to him, rather trying to do it himself. Its strange that the god actually wants to prove himself to Goten.

Pulling back slowly, Goten unwraps his arms from around Aymeric. One hand keeps a gentle hold of Aymeric's shirt while he uses his other to rub at his face and wipe away any tears. He peeks at Aymeric as he wipes one of his eyes.]

I wanna....I wanna get stronger too. Both of us, together.

[Just saying that brings a small smile to Goten's face.]

I'm happy we're a team, Aymeric. I really really am!

[It's ok to cry, Goten. Whoever says that you shouldn't once in awhile is more than likely being mean or rude because it shows that people have emotions. But now it's to the point of him being able to look up which makes Aymeric happy. Yeah, he knows folks have been vanishing and he can't promise that he'll stay forever because who knows in this world. What he can try to do is to be there for him when he can. He's not the type to abandon someone in need.]

We will. It will take time and practice but we shall get there.

[And he smiles again for reassurance.]

As am I. Tis not often that one hears of wanting to help in this realm. Or mayhap the BBS is a poor place to take notice.
