[ Sand. Ocean. Sky. Sand. The device is thrown on a bank recording a blaze of fire and at its center stands Mikoto. He's grinning, eyes bright with anticipation as an amoeba-like ayakashi charges in. The Red King stares down his opponent and smirks when it charges. He breathes in, compressing his powers, and with a small grunt releases an explosion of red that erupts like a dormant volcano driving away the creature. Mikoto stands on melted sand watching it flee as flames cover him like a second skin. Beneath him, molten sand begins to cool into glass that reflects the sun. Mikoto turns then, red eyes staring into the camera. He smiles, a thought sliding into place. ]

[ The steps forward but stops when a secondary thought slips in undetected and on a whim -- ]

[Nami has only suspicion and displeasure across her expression when she answers. Her voice is steady and assertive.]

How do you know my name?

[ He takes a drag of a cigarette as he looks her over. ]

[Nami narrows her eyes in further suspicion, but she says nothing on it.]

And? Who are you, and what do you want out of a conversation?

[ He answers easily. ]

[Well, if there's anything that's a surefire way of grabbing Ren's attentions, it's a flagrant display of power combined with asking for him by name. He's careful to make sure the background of his video is neutral sky, but otherwise his smile and tone are politely friendly.]

[ Eric's god. Mikoto takes a long drag of his cigarette while he looks him over. ]

Yata eyes this message with a mixture of wary curiosity and awe, because damn, that was sorta cool. So far Yata hasn't managed much in the way of controlling the fire he can summon, but he's still trying. Much to the dismay of many a training dummy and quite a few trees, unfortunately.

Still, it's the list of names given afterwards that has his wariness looming larger again and he doesn't pause to consider the consequences before he's flicking open a feed to reply. ]

What do you want with my god?

[ Mikoto removes the cigarette, his lips tugging up. He knew Yata wouldn't be able to help himself. ]

Exactly what I said.

You didn't say much of anything, other than yelling for my god.

[ He makes a noise in the affirmative. ]

[ Wow. Even though he hardly knows this guy, and should probably be feeling intensely bitter over the immense amount of power that fiery aura contains, Bandou can't help but watch in awe at the display.

...this guy actually believes in me...

The thought makes Bandou's chest tighten with an odd mix of feelings. Joy, pride and relief with a dark underside of fear and pain. But once Mikoto calls out his god's name, he shakes himself out of it and sends a reply. ]

Ah... Izuminokami-san's probably not gonna see this. He hates using his PDA.

[ He doesn't seem disturbed by the news. ]

I guess, I'll just take a walk there.

[ He stands - Yes, he means now. Thanks for the heads-up, Bandou ]

[ Ok, he met this guy briefly, and he seemed pretty cool. But, he's new here so what could he possibly need to talk with Kane-san about? ]

Do you want me to just tell him something for you?

[ He looks down at the device, a thought slipping in unnoticed. ]

So tell me, did you have to take special classes to be this bad at communication or is it a natural talent you have?

[ Mikoto's not interested in someone who's too much of a coward to put down their name. No answer. He doesn't even read the message - too lazy. ]

[excuse you princess. he's an asshole, not a coward.

But, he doesn't like this. Not being responded to, he hasn't even done anything yet.

So, he'll give it about an hour. And this time, he'll try again with his name.]

Sorry, I think we got off to the wrong foot.

You're definitely bad at communication. At least you're attractive, so you have that.

[He only made this private at the last second, but posting it publicly would have been trouble. For one thing, it would come off as needless posturing. For another, Izuminokami has a touch of his pride, and Yamanami would be pretty confused to see him getting defensive over him. Better to keep this conversation quiet -- but he does feel the need to inquire, since two of those gods are his people in some way, shape, or form.]

[Hijikata is calm enough on the surface, but there's something dark and sharp in his eyes as he stares the camera down.]

And what do you want with them?

[ He doesn't recognize the name but the lock is becoming a little more familiar. How interesting. So, anyone could lock these things, not that he'd ever bother to try it out. ]

[A fair enough question, considering. Still, there's a small shift in his posture that's just this side of challenging.]

Toshizou Hijikata. The current incarnation of Hachiman, formerly the Assistant Army Minister of the Republic of Ezo, and the Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi before that.

Freyja and Guan Yu are my... former associates, of sorts. If there's a problem concerning them, it concerns me.

[ It takes him a moment to recognize the other, but considering it wasn't one of his clansmen, it must have been Munakata's man. He doesn't remember his name at the moment though. ]

That makes things easier.
