[ Sand. Ocean. Sky. Sand. The device is thrown on a bank recording a blaze of fire and at its center stands Mikoto. He's grinning, eyes bright with anticipation as an amoeba-like ayakashi charges in. The Red King stares down his opponent and smirks when it charges. He breathes in, compressing his powers, and with a small grunt releases an explosion of red that erupts like a dormant volcano driving away the creature. Mikoto stands on melted sand watching it flee as flames cover him like a second skin. Beneath him, molten sand begins to cool into glass that reflects the sun. Mikoto turns then, red eyes staring into the camera. He smiles, a thought sliding into place. ]

We need to talk.

[ The steps forward but stops when a secondary thought slips in undetected and on a whim -- ]

Guan Yu, you too.


[ooc: he's calling out the gods of his men, plus the blue. ]

[ Wow. Even though he hardly knows this guy, and should probably be feeling intensely bitter over the immense amount of power that fiery aura contains, Bandou can't help but watch in awe at the display.

...this guy actually believes in me...

The thought makes Bandou's chest tighten with an odd mix of feelings. Joy, pride and relief with a dark underside of fear and pain. But once Mikoto calls out his god's name, he shakes himself out of it and sends a reply. ]

Ah... Izuminokami-san's probably not gonna see this. He hates using his PDA.

[lionhearrt]

[ He doesn't seem disturbed by the news. ]

I guess, I'll just take a walk there.

[ He stands - Yes, he means now. Thanks for the heads-up, Bandou ]

You're coming over?

[ Ok, he met this guy briefly, and he seemed pretty cool. But, he's new here so what could he possibly need to talk with Kane-san about? ]

Do you want me to just tell him something for you?

[lionhearrt]

[ He looks down at the device, a thought slipping in unnoticed. ]

Why don't you answer in his stead.

[chickshades]

But, isn't it something important? [ Mikoto made it sound that way, even with such few words. ] I don't want to answer for him if it is.

[lionhearrt]

It's better if it comes from you.

[chickshades]

Why didn't you just ask for me then?

[lionhearrt]

Are you complaining?

[chickshades]

No! You're just not making any damn sense!

[ Seriously, he's so confused right now. ]

Fine, what is it?

[lionhearrt]

I don't like talking on these things.

[ Where every conversation was stored. If he wanted to keep his men safe, then he'd have to keep it off the record. No one needed to know his connection to them. That's why he used their gods names, he didn't care about them. ]

Too much hassle holding it up.

[chickshades]

[ What's with these adults and not wanting to use their phones? ]

Get a case with a stand in it.

[lionhearrt]

[ He smiles and instead of answering he shifts through the menus and a few moments later Bandou's phone should be getting his coordinates. ]

[chickshades]

[ When the notif pops up, Bandou frowns slightly. So this guy wanted to meet up. Well, that couldn't sound anymore suspicious. But somehow Bandou's not feeling any hesitance. ]

Fine. Give me a few minutes.

[lionhearrt]

Don't be late.

[ As if Mikoto isn't all the time!

Mikoto will be at the beach, still standing on the circle of glass overlooking the sea with a cigarette in his mouth. ]

[ It won't take him too long to get there. After all, they can teleport at will. So it's only a bit of a wait for Mikoto before Bandou's walking up next to him. ]

[ He senses his arrival but remains in place, blowing out a stream of smoke as the other approaches. He's silent for a moment, his eyes on the waves crashing to the shore. ]

Freyja.

You're their shinki.

[chickshades]

Yeah. What did you want to talk with him about?

[ Or to me about, he guesses is what he should actually ask, since Mikoto seemed more interested in him being a part of this. ]

[lionhearrt]

[ Silence follows his question, but only for a moment. ]

How does he treat you?

[chickshades]

Good?

[ It's only stated as a question because he's confused as to why Mikoto cares. They'd only met the other day, and not even for very long. Was there something he didn't know? ]

He's a pretty cool guy.

[lionhearrt]

Tell me about him.

[chickshades]

Ok...

[ Bandou looks up, trying to think of what kinds of things there were to talk about him. ]

We got here at the same time and have been partners since then. He's never had any other shinki. Just me and him!

[ Which it's obvious he's proud of. ]

He's supposed to be a god of beauty and love, which was pretty cool when I first found out, cause I figured he could help me land a date. But for some reason he thinks all that romance stuff is stupid. I don't know why.

Oh, and I keep trying to get him to play some games with me, but he thinks technology is stupid, too. I figured he'd like fighting games, since he says he used to be a sword, but he'd rather go out and fight first hand. Which is cool too, I guess. Sometimes I can get him to watch a movie.

[ Bandou laughs a bit. ]

He always cries when something happens to the main character, though.

[lionhearrt]

[ Mikoto listens patiently, smoke billowing from the cigarette in his hand. From the way he described him... ]

You like him.

[ A statement, not a question. ]

[chickshades]

Yeah. He appreciates me how I am.

[ Which is something Bandou needs with all the ridicule he gets from most people. ]

[lionhearrt]

Is that so.

[ He holds the cigarette in his hand as the pieces slide into place. He was in good hands. Better hands. This god of his, he'd need to thank him; one day. ]

That's how it should be.

[chickshades]

[ Bandou smiles contently before a sudden thought pops into his head. ]

...Did you talk with that Guan Yu guy, yet?
