[ Sand. Ocean. Sky. Sand. The device is thrown on a bank recording a blaze of fire and at its center stands Mikoto. He's grinning, eyes bright with anticipation as an amoeba-like ayakashi charges in. The Red King stares down his opponent and smirks when it charges. He breathes in, compressing his powers, and with a small grunt releases an explosion of red that erupts like a dormant volcano driving away the creature. Mikoto stands on melted sand watching it flee as flames cover him like a second skin. Beneath him, molten sand begins to cool into glass that reflects the sun. Mikoto turns then, red eyes staring into the camera. He smiles, a thought sliding into place. ]

We need to talk.

[ The steps forward but stops when a secondary thought slips in undetected and on a whim -- ]

Guan Yu, you too.


[ooc: he's calling out the gods of his men, plus the blue. ]

[Hang on while he taps his chin and thinks about that for a moment.]

The north corner of the park at [location]?

Hmmn.

[ With that he device turns off as he heads towards the park. He'll take his time, and strolls in with half an hour to spare. No point in taking a nap, so he pulls out his cigarette and lights it with a flick of his finger.

He'll be chain smoking on a bench while he waits. ]

[shadowrevenger]

[As promised, it's at least another half and hour before Ren arrives in all his usual red and black glory and spots the right bench to walk up to. At least "Ra" isn't too difficult to spot even when he's not on fire.

He stops a few feet away from the bench and the cigarette smoke and offers him another friendly but neutral smile.]

All right, I'm here. It must be something very important to want to meet like this.

[lionhearrt]

[ Mikoto stays seated as golden eyes flick to the other. ]

Eric Surt. [ He gets to the point. ] He's your shinki.

[shadowrevenger]

[...Ah well, he probably should have guessed this would be about his shinki. That always seems to be why anyone calls him out here.]

That's right. Do you have some kind of business with him?

[lionhearrt]

He's one of mine.

[shadowrevenger]

[A frown slips through for a second before he reminds himself not to jump to conclusions from something that short and contextless and goes back to smiling again.]

I realize you're a man of few words, but you'll have to be more specific than that.

[lionhearrt]

Back home.

[ He flicks the cigarette to the ground and rises to his feet, putting it out with his sole. He stands to his full height, and pockets his hand in his jean pocket. ]

He's one of mine, back home.

[shadowrevenger]

[Oh. He sees what's going on here, then. He relaxes a bit and smiles a little more genuinely.]

Then you're checking up on him? Or you want him back?

[lionhearrt]

Checking. For now.

I can't have him being mistreated.

[shadowrevenger]

[Thank goodness this guy didn't show up a month ago or he'd have a serious problem on his hands...]

If anything, he won't let me spoil him as much as I'd like to. [He laughs a little as he says it, but quickly sobers to something more serious.] He's my teammate. My teammates are very precious to me.

[lionhearrt]

Then you understand why I'm here.

[ His lips pull into a small smile. ]

Truth be told, you're probably a better god for him than I ever will be.

[shadowrevenger]

I'm sure I'd be doing the same thing if I knew any of my teammates were here.

[As if that isn't a scenario that plays out in his head at least twice a week.

He shrugs a little at the rest of it, since he's not sure he really agree with that but he's not going to outright say so.]

Well, I'm probably the less dangerous choice, anyway.

[lionhearrt]

[ His smile softens. ]

You're probably right.

So long as you're taking care of him, I'll leave him to you.

[shadowrevenger]

I'm trying my best~! Of course, you're welcome to come by any time if you want to see him or otherwise. Any friend of Eric-kun's is welcome in my house.

[lionhearrt]

I'll keep that in mind.

[ Not that he'll actually come in, but he might walk by every once in awhile check up on him. ]

[shadowrevenger]

[That counts a success as far as he's concerned. Of course, he'll have to know how to get there, so Ren digs through his pockets for a moment and pulls out a business card with a map to his shrine on the back and a small photo of what his temple looks like.

As he holds both of them out, he suddenly realizes there's something very important here that he doesn't know yet.]

Oh, what's your name?

[lionhearrt]

[ Normally, Mikoto wouldn't bother with such formalities but this was concerning his clansmen, so he takes the offered card and pockets it before answering. ]
