My thanks to everyone who helped clean and repair the abandoned temple! I'm pleased to report that it seems to be monster free and perfectly safe. There are also new windows.

I'll be resuming tutoring there on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons starting next week. So far the subjects I'm teaching are primarily math and Japanese. Please let me know if you will be attending or if there are any other subjects you'd like to learn. Household budgeting and cooking, for example.

There's no charge for my instruction, but donations of books, furniture and classroom equipment are always welcome. Please consider this building a community space, and feel free to use it if you wish to hold any classes or meetings of your own. Add them to our schedule, clean up after yourselves and don't break anything. （⋆＾－＾⋆）ノ

I didn't say you needed them. But if you should happen to want one, they're still there.

Fine. But I will be supervising the discipline of the new teachers and students. And tell them to stay away from my room.

[He may have designated one of the rooms in the school as his own office and will fight anyone to the death for it.]

I'll make a sign for your room.

We should work together to come up with some school rules, don't you think?

[Otherwise, Hakkai suspects Hibari's just going to declare anything he dislikes to be against them....]

Fine. I was going to come visit with the advent of classes. It will be better than whatever gods I have to deal with now.

Well, I wouldn't mind some company while I get ready.

[Well then, Hakkai was going to have a teenager suddenly coming in through a window as he was working on something because the door was only for normal people.]

[Hakkai glances up from a notebook he's scribbling industriously in and raises his eyebrows, smiling faintly.

It's not actually a surprise to see Hibari coming in through a window. Even though this is the second floor....]

Good afternoon.

[And of course it didn't matter how high the window was; he rather liked coming in those ones because of the shocked looks people afforded him. Even Hakkai's normal look was strangely amusing to him and he climbed in and straightened out, stretching like a cat.]

I'm assuming you even know where my office is?

[It would probably be a lot easier for Hakkai to tell that somehow, Hibari's tense and strange body language/attitude had now suddenly calmed down.]

Is it that room you were sleeping in the other day?

["Office" is probably a little too official of a term for that, but Hakkai isn't arguing.]

[Excuse you Hakkai, he actually does work, it's just hard when the school was just open and also him avoiding everyone.]

Yes. It's mine now. I am going to be moving all my papers over there very soon.

Well, then, I'll be sure to put the sign up for you!

[Depending on his mood at the time, he may add a sticky note reading "Beware - I Bite." Probably not, though. The thought is enough to amuse him.]

[Rude, Hakkai. He will throw you out a window if you do that.

He does, however, stare for awhile at Hakkai, or at least the wall beside him when he thought the older man was looking. Hibari seemed to be contemplating something and it was a while before he suddenly spoke.]

This building can't go anywhere.

[Hakkai stills for a moment, looking blankly at the wall above his desk, before glancing back down, eyes hidden under a sweep of lashes.]

... That's right.

Or, at least, I hope that's right. I haven't heard of any abandoned temples vanishing.

[Neither had Ukoku, who had been tracking them more directly.]

All you have is a hope? I could hope that my memories of before i died return, and that's not likely to happen.

All I have is a probability. I haven't seen one of these temples vanish, whereas our new gods and their temples vanish all the time.

[There's a hint of anger in his tone for a moment, but it fades again as he continues.]

It's not as if there's anyone I could trust to tell me it will stay.

Well the gods of this place don't seem to care what happen to we shinki when it inconveniences them, so the farther away I can get from them, the better.

[He'd now sat himself down in the nearest seat, a mew coming from his jacket as Kishi once again emerged.]

[Hakkai laughs shortly.]

That's true enough. Hello, Kishi. My, he's getting big.

[Kishi was getting big, and didn't seem to care as he stepped all over Hibari's stomach to get the floor, becoming a black and white streak before reaching up Hakkai's leg, looking for attention.]

I need you to take Mouse in. I can't carry both of the cats around with me all the time.

[Hakkai leans down to pick Kishi up, settling the cat in the crook of his arm and rubbing the underside of his chin with a knuckle (his claws, unfortunately, not being retractable.) He glances over at Hibari at that request.]

Mouse is welcome to stay here at the school, of course. Or there's room at Yuri's temple....

[Hibari's welcome to stay here, too. Hakkai wonders if he just plans to keep wandering.]

[Kishi didn't care about the claws, he just wanted pets and was now purring loudly because Hakkai was giving them to him. Mouse, on the other hand Hibari had to leave behind at the newest temple, but he wasn't very happy about this.]

I don't trust this new god. Besides, Mouse likes it better here in the school. You may need to take care of him at times.

I don't mind that. Any of your animals is welcome to stay here.

[He pauses, and glances over at Hibari, a tiny spark of amusement in his eyes.]

But you'll have to walk Bon yourself, of course.

You just say that because you don't like that Bon likes tackling you.

[Bon liked tackling everyone, but particularly Hakkai and other tall people. Still, that was one thing he didn't have to worry about....not that he was worrying in the first place.]

I don't mind, but when Jeep is riding on my shoulders he doesn't appreciate it at all...

[Hakkai hasn't fallen on him yet, but there has been one close call.]

I haven't seen Jeep in awhile. Is he not around the school?

[One could almost, almost tell that he may miss the cute little dragon.]

He's napping at Yuri's temple. I can bring him by tomorrow, though.

[He's also been helping Hakkai keep an eye on Asshole, since the soulless shinki hasn't been given a new god and Hakkai doesn't want him to wander off to that temple that Kshitigarbha found.

He may have disliked the man in life, and he may still have the occasional nostalgic urge to break a few of his bones, but Hakkai can't deny feeling a certain responsibility. Besides, Banri is far less annoying with his personality wiped away.]
