I do not think this is the time for beach parties. Half of us cannot remember who we are. Those of us who know a shinki's past could kill them with a single word, without ever meaning for them to come to harm. This should not be accepted as normal without so much as an explanation as to why it is necessary.

What reason could there possibly be to strip someone of all memory?

Why does nobody seem to know what is going on?

Besides, why would it take my mentioning the matter for someone to grow curious about what their own past might hold? It is not as if refusing to talk about the problem will somehow make it less troublesome, and they are hardly ignorant of its absence. Shinki are not children.

Shinki don't typically crave to know about their past. They know they're dead and dont remember anything. They don't need to remember. You've already gotten a few other replies explaining it pretty well.

People do not actually need to do all sorts of things they do as a matter of course, but very well. I understand that much.

Why is it necessary to take their memories from them?

That is usually what happens when people die. It hardly seems unreasonable to wonder why the change.
