Heaven's BBS | Text | This is Probably a Bad Idea
From: Chiyou
Date: June 14
I do not think this is the time for beach parties. Half of us cannot remember who we are. Those of us who know a shinki's past could kill them with a single word, without ever meaning for them to come to harm. This should not be accepted as normal without so much as an explanation as to why it is necessary.
What reason could there possibly be to strip someone of all memory?
Why does nobody seem to know what is going on?

Why would questioning the system harm a shinki? Surely they have been informed of the limitations of their condition.

[clearly no love lost here between zangetsu and the old gods]
[but here, he takes a moment to switch to a PRIVATE channel]
Up until a shinki learned his past and was turned into a monster, no. We _weren't_ informed. And that's what happens to shinki who learn too much too quick -- we don't just wither up and die, we turn into ayakashi that have to be destroyed. strong ayakashi, too. Because of... what? Regrets? Sadness? Fuck, if you ain't sad about being dead even without memories, I dont know what to tell ya.
it's all horse shit

[Oh, this is even worse than he had been imagining.]
But why would they fail to mention it? Unless whoever is in charge here were hoping that it would happen, I cannot understand the reason for the secrecy. Surely it is only natural to want to inform a friend who has forgotten everything of how one might know them, at least? It does not take anything much in the way of information to do serious harm, either.
But why in the world would they turn some of us into Gods, too? Surely as shinki we would have no choice but to do their bidding. And why, having made that choice, would they then go back on it with some of us, and change us into something else?
The more I learn of this place, the more confusing it becomes.
private;
Apparently Gods have a... natural inclination to NOT reveal anything to their shinki. My gods said something like that. Like a bad feeling in the pits of their stomachs. But hell, I don't know if that applies to gods who aren't bonded to a particular shinki.
this place is garbage. get used to it

[Maybe the whole mess with Yoon had simply happened too fast.]
I felt that with my friends. I did not realize it was anything more than concern, when it seemed simply natural, but I have heard that shinki feel the same way, when contemplating their past. It hardly seems right that this place should be so keen on giving us all warnings, and so reluctant to explain why they exist.
