[Although it would be best if he saw to some of his prayers, instead Xehanort has picked up his notebook, a bit of tape and phone, shifted to the jackal-headed form most associate with the god Anubis, and gone looking for other temples nearby. He could have stayed in human form, but if he's intending to speak to gods and shinki both, isn't it best to be easily identified?

Once a temple is found, however, it's just a matter of looking for a door to knock on or a proper place to call out a greeting .. or even approach someone who happens to be standing outside.

He's really not that picky. God, shinki, it's all the same.]

[So someone wasn't home when Xehanort ventured to visit their temple. That's alright, there are a million things to do in a day. But at any temple that seemed occupied but nobody home, he's left a note.]

Greetings. I am Anubis; I visited your temple today but nobody was home.

I'd like to ask some questions about your experiences here (God or Shinki!), but since it seems I've missed you, perhaps you'd like to visit me instead, or leave me a message? I should be back at my own temple after sunset, but I can also be reached at [number] easily.

[Visiting Anubis' temple, on the other hand, is visiting a desert. It's dry, even with the bits of oasis-like pools here and there, but it's not completely uninviting.. if it's after sunset he'll be there.]

Truly? I wonder if she was at the recent one. I didn't see anything overtly unusual. .. Aside from the winged orange boy and the wolf with the red markings..

[One of which happens to be a different Amaterasu, which wouldn't have helped at all.

But the idea of having missed such an opportunity was intensely disappointing. He would have to keep watch for the next inevitable wave and see if she'd be there, and then pounce. So many questions awaited!]

Kids adapt fast, at least. When everything is a new wonder, strange new wonders like this aren't too out of place. The idea of young children as gods or shinki though.. fighting those creatures..

[Even Xehanort (currently) has lines he's not comfortable crossing. It's best that most of them seem older.]

[He really needs to pay more attention to these things if these are the "new hires" so to speak. Maybe they're just very specific quirks... powers, really. Most people who come here aren't from Izuku's world, after all.]

Yes. Like how my gods name is not pronounced axolotl. And that I am 100% sure I am not a zombie, vampire, or other undead. Just dead dead with a new body but still dead.

Think what you like. [That's all Shun really cares to say on the topic, and there's an acid to his tone to match the scorn. Since his original issue was with the appearance concealment and not the name, to him, this is making a mountain out of a molehill.

To the more polite farewell, he says nothing, but at least doesn't dismiss it either. Any kind of politeness isn't his own forte, so chances are he wouldn't be returning it even if he conversation had gone better.

In any case, if the guy has enough sense not to linger after an exchange like that, then Shun feels no need to hasten his exit. He does, however, keep an eye on him for as long as he's visible from the garden. If there's one thing Shun hates to do, it's take his eye off an unknown factor.]

[He's not sure how that happened, but he would certainly remember Anubis from the party.]

Pardon my numerous questions. I'm Hibiki Kohaku, a shinki living in this temple. Please, do tell me about these difficulties, maybe I could offer my help.

[There's a slight nod. He's not exaggerating at ALL. Though Davesprite had been here for a little while as far as he knew, Amaterasu was recent. Probably there were even more unusual people about.]

..A word of advice, don't ask the orange boy if he might be a friendly ayakashi, he did not take it well.

[When you're new, you just don't KNOW these things, like 'what an ayakashi really is'. Frankly he'd looked a bit like one! But lesson learned, and now he can impart that lesson to others.]

I agree. .. By context, 'quirk' might be magic of some sort?

[Hey that's a word he doesn't know, but he can make guesses.]

How is it pronounced? Is it spelled 'axolotl'?

Are you certain you're actually dead then if you're still walking around, and breathing and teh other general signs of not being dead? There are ways to bring someone back to life after they die, but they're not still dead once they're returned..

[Especially when he's felt the change from shinki to ayakashi from his bonds.]

Magic? Uh... it's more like a genetic thing. Where I'm from most people have a quirk of some kind. It can be something like super strength or making things float or generating explosions. They can really be anything.

I blend in surprisingly well when there's distractions such as free food and alarmingly friendly fish.

[It's said with such serene conviction that maybe it's believable. Nevermind that he'd looked completely different there, here he was on god business and insisted on looking the part.]

When a stranger arrives, I think some questions are more than justified. After all, there's no telling what they want.

[It's an attempt perhaps at reassurance, but he knew how he'd react if someone turned up uninvited to his own home.]

It's .. been seeming that when a new god or shinki arrives here, they're not told everything they really need to know, and have to go looking or begging for answers on their own. I'm hoping to alleviate this as much as possible, but it means finding out what sorts of things people had difficulty with.

[Xehanort has yet to encounter an actual ayakashi. Once he does, the differences will definitely be obvious enough that he wouldn't make that mistake again. Being told they were 'monsters' and seeing ONLY humans afterward seemed to suggest things..

May I ask what your quirk is?

It's basically physical enhancement. Increased strength, speed and reflexes.

[Not durability though, that he has to work on.]

Nope. Ixtlilton. Still a mouthful. I just call him Simon. Hell of a lot easier.

Been told that I am dead by big wig gods and shinki, my own god, other shinki, and I had a lovely discussion with a nice woman named Dana as to what kind of dead we are if we are indeed dead. We agree that this is all bs. Especially the taking of memories part. Really don't wanna think too hard on that since it gives me a wicked as fuck headache.

[For that he stands and casually saunters over as he pulls his phone out. Internet button push later, he types in the web address and shows it to puppy head guy.]

The internet. Wikipedia.org. Discovered it when looking up what kind of cat doesn't mind water, or what kind of shark you can raise in fresh water. [He is not kidding about the shark thing.]

[It's a good spot for meditating or just relaxing. Forrest spends a fair bit of time out here when he isn't sewing.]

There are so many different types of ayakashi that I feel like it would be difficult to provide specific information on how to fight them. I'm not sure how I feel about keeping them trapped, either. If they were to break loose, that could be a big problem.

[That’s certainly interesting to hear, although Chikusa’s expression stays as blank as usual, and he gives a shrug.]

Who said the rumor?

[the temple of Guan Yu, currently portrayed by one Yamanami Keisuke, was as beautiful as it was enormous. Temples and castles were built into the mountains with precarious bridges connecting them. Waterfalls poured from cliffs and greenery was everywhere. Off to the side of the main temple, there is a "small" (ha!) guesthouse with an open field and what looks like a crude chicken pen and coop. The birds are out in the yard, along with their owner -- a beasty that Xehanort may find familiar. He has a small pile of silvery carp and is working on eating them, more slowly and deliberately than he'd inhaled the chicken wings. A few of the chickens hang out nearby, apparently begging for scraps. Zangetsu snickers to himself and obliges, tossing small pieces of fish-flesh to the birds, who go after it with gusto.

But there will be no sneaking up on him. Without turning around, he addresses the visitor]

Well, well. If it ain't two-souls. The God of this temple isn't home, if you're looking for 'im. [he turns to look at Xehanort, raising his eyebrows] Well, that's a new look. [in anticipation of his awful joke, he starts to laugh a bit] Hehe... why the long face? Heeahahahahaha!

Can you use it freely whenever you choose? How does it work for say, hand-eye coordination?

[Although he's obviously curious it doesn't seem like he has anything particular in mind when asking about it. The need to know was enough of a drive!]

[It takes him a while to formulate a response. He's not going to try Ixtlilton himself, he knows he won't get it right and if he's going to practice it's going to be where nobody else can hear him.

But he was not buying this 'dead' thing, not when they could still bleed.]

[There's no attempts at stealth at all. A bit of scuffing of feet, lots of pauses to study the scenery, and not even anything like a great bit of speed while looking for someone. Part of the fascinating aspect of visiting other temples was seeing what they looked like and often enjoying their settings.

He's still waiting for one to be mostly fire and brimstone, but hadn't found it yet.

Searching for intelligent signs of life is part of it though, he still needs to collect more data where he can for a proper compilation, but what he doesn't expect to find is the thing that ate all his chicken wings. Zangetsu HAD to be a god or shinki, so sooner or later it made sense he'd stumble across the hollow-spirit, but he'd almost wished otherwise.

At least this time there's food on hand, and it's not his.]

I see you found your people. [The response is serene to being laughed at. Not even an ear twitch.] Though you'll never sleep well in a coop that small.

All seem to be able to killed via Rend and stopped via barriers, however. It would be unwise to attempt to contain something large for long but I have seen ayakashi little bigger than baseballs.

[THOSE ones surely could be contained safely.]

They must be neutralized in one form or another. I am unsure how one might keep even a small one contained though, I have yet to attempt it.

Worst part is that meds so don't work with those headaches. My trick? Think about cats or other cute things.

If he remembered what Avenue Q was, then he could quote a certain song. Because everyone knows what the internet is really for. Memes come as a close second. Gosh, is there Heavens version of Twitter?]

[Tit for tat. If Xehanort had been bothered by Zangetsu's jab, it doesn't seem so - neither does Zangetsu seem bothered by the jab in return. The chickens were ... really no concern, they're just birds.

The mask would draw a raised eyebrow if he HAD eyebrows right now, but he does not. Instead an ear twitches a bit to one side, a gesture that somehow conveys the same thing. It probably meant more to those who knew what a hollow's mask was.

[Nari probably knows the sound that rises, a distracted acknowledging noise that clearly isn't actually paying attention because his attention is 100% somewhere else. Maybe he's usually the one using it on someone else!

But Xehanort manages to drag himself away from his new best friend after a herculean bit of effort, glancing at Nari again and with much, MUCH reluctance tucking the phone away. No, if he keeps at it that's all he's going to do.

The itch to get it back out and look up something else immediately bubbles up. He's not that good at resisting temptation, let's see how long he can hold out.]

That sounds incredibly unhealthy. .. But probably also tasty given the other fried things I've had. Have you ever been there, or tried any of it?
