I have a question for the shinki among us.

How important to you is your connection to your god?

If you could go without a name, and not worry about your safety or a place to stay, would you prefer to?

I'm afraid that they can't be. It's not a matter of a conflict.

Really, though, I'm asking in order to help someone else with a decision they're making. My perspective is only one perspective, after all.

At least you're aware of that much.

For my perspective, I'm wishing the bonds were stronger. We'd be a better team that way.

Hard, but not impossible.

I haven't let us get close, no. It's never mattered before, but then time was on our side before.

Time is rarely on our side here.

Before I saw what shinki could become - the ayakashi.

It feels like things have become more intense since then.

I see. If you're careful and diligent, you can stay safe enough from that, though.

There seems to be no keeping yourself safe from the disappearances.

So not even getting close to your god can prevent that... but when I said intense, I just meant some of these attacks. They seem to be escalating in scale, that's all.

I agree. There were several mortal casualties in the first event I saw, but these seem to be affecting ever larger and more populated areas.
