I have a question for the shinki among us.
How important to you is your connection to your god?
If you could go without a name, and not worry about your safety or a place to stay, would you prefer to?

Assuming your current god agrees to release you, of course.

Having an unhappy shinki isn't good for the god, either, generally.

it's the principle of the matter
they got the power telling me what to do

Well, we are their servants, in the end.

they should've kept me in the ground if they expected me to blindly follow orders

One of which is that, although we can encourage our gods to make decisions, it is still their decision in the end.

I'm being quite literal. It's happened at least once. One or two memories may come back to you on your own, but I wouldn't recommend looking.

those memories are ours!

If it makes it easier for you, consider thinking of this as a new life. The person that you once were died, after all.
