I have a question for the shinki among us.
How important to you is your connection to your god?
If you could go without a name, and not worry about your safety or a place to stay, would you prefer to?

To your first question: my connection with my god is the most precious treasure I have right now. I've been more fortunate than most. My god shares the same values as I do, and tries very hard to uphold the duties and responsibilities expected of a god. That's the kind of god that I'm proud to guide and serve. And I've been treated kindly by my god, and with respect.
To your second question: no. As a shinki I have powers that can help protect the living, but killing ayakashi requires a god. It would be irresponsible and selfish to turn my back on the Near Shore, not when I can do more. And having a god to guide and assist gives me meaningful purpose; I'm not a person that's satisfied to simply live without striving towards a greater good.

You have been very lucky in your god, then, indeed. I wish you the best of continuing luck with your partnership.
Then, am I right to think that you feel that in order to have a higher purpose as well as to protect the Near Shore, you must have a god to work with?

I believe that my purpose in this new life is to simply help humanity. But I feel that due to my existence as a shinki, I have been granted certain powers that work best when I'm working together with my god. By working with a god, I believe I can accomplish more than working individually. And to be a shinki also puts me in a position to counsel my god. I want my god to continue aiding others. I believe in my god's potential and the wonders my god can do for the Near Shore.
So to be precise: I believe that solving prayers, slaying ayakashi and guiding my god as an exemplar are the best measures to take to fulfill my purpose. Those are my initial reasons for pursuing and honoring the bond between a shinki and a god.

I don't think you're mistaken, of course! Each of us has our own purpose here. Thank you for your answer.
