I have a question for the shinki among us.

How important to you is your connection to your god?

If you could go without a name, and not worry about your safety or a place to stay, would you prefer to?

If we weren't shinki, there's little else we could be, except dead.

Shinki exist for one specific purpose, correct? Ayakashi cannot be destroyed without us, but we require a god in order to fulfill that purpose. It seems to me that a shinki without a god would suffer a very aimless existence.

Perhaps, if they don't mind shirking their responsibilities as a shinki. I'm not one of them. To have the power to destroy evil spirits and not put that power to use would be contemptible.

Thank you. [He takes a lot of pride in that work ethic.]

...I won't say that a cruel god would be better than no god. I'm sure there have been gods who behaved no better than evil spirits themselves. It does matter.

But if I found myself without a god, I would seek one out. One I could comfortably work with.

You're welcome. I'm glad I could be of assistance.
