[ The video turns on showing Zero in a dark room inside his temple. A quiet look falls across his eyes as he faces the camera. He's not one to speak to people let alone about himself but after his encounter with Sheryl, he has no choice. He knows what happened even if he can't remember it. He lost control. ]

My name is Zero Kiryuu and I was here before as a shinki.

[ A pause as he squares his shoulders to face his crimes.  ]

I need to know if I killed someone.

They took my memories when I was brought back as a god but that doesn't erase my crimes. I need to know what happened. What I did.

I won't let this go.


[ OOC: He doesn't know he died, he simply assumes his loss of memories is due to the whole turning a shinki into a god deal. Some kind soul, please spring that up on him. Also, for any future in-action meet ups Zero will mysteriously have some pomegranate fruit/seeds on him at all times. If you eat them you'll be sentenced (only if you want!) to stay one night at his temple before the seeds effects let them escape! ]

[ She gets that part, but-- ]

...Then, it's safe to assume that you didn't have enough blood to stave off your hunger. [ Or at least it seems that way in part. The other part is that he could have-- ] --Or you could have delved too deep into figuring out your memories. Since you don't remember anything, let me tell you that once a shinki knows of their memories and past, they turn into ayakashi. It's a vicious cycle, and it cannot be stopped.

[ It's a fair warning, too. ] Either through corruption by lack of blood, or you discovered your past, or maybe both, you turned against your friends. [ A pause, and it seems that her voice is stronger now. She's calmer than she was before, because now her mind is working. Working to try to prevent this from happening again. ] I doubt you told any of us you were suffering-- or maybe you didn't know or trust us. [ It's too late for that, though. ]

So... to stop this from happening again-- we need you to tell us when you need help, when you think you might be slipping. [ She then adds, rather quietly: ] If not me, then someone else. I don't want anyone else to be hurt... and I doubt you want others to be hurt, either. [ Her frown is delicate, but understanding. ]

[ She was... worried. For good reason too. Without his memories he couldn't tell her her worries were baseless but he could tell her: ]

I'm older than I was before.

[ He's taller than before, 6'3 to his previous 6'1 and his hair has gotten slightly longer but only by an inch. It's the only visible differences aside from his facade that shows a man whose gained insight in the year he's gained. He's not so quick to temper, not so quick to find amusement in the smallest things. He's distant, more so than before, but calmer. He's gained patience. ]

Back then... I was always close to losing control. Every night. [ The memories come back but they're distorted. ] I don't know the details but I was in a coma and when I woke up, the bloodlust was.... not gone but easier to manage.

[ He looks at her. ]

I'm not in danger of falling to a Level E, the way I am now.

[miraculo]

I trust you, Zero.... [ Of course she does. She trusts just about anyone. But she's also not someone to believe that everyone is perfect. She's not perfect, vampires aren't perfect, and mistakes can happen. It doesn't make someone weak, in her opinion. ] Although, it would be unwise to not have some sort of safety net.

[ Can he blame her? She saw him at his worst. ] That's where your friends come in, the people here who still care about you. [ Her included. ] They're strong-- we're stronger together. That's what I've learned here. [ Speaking of friendship always bring a sense of warmth to her. At last there is a smile. A small one, a weak one, but a smile nonetheless. ] And I believe we all want to help you, even if there is only a one in a million chance that things may take a turn for the worse. [ She inclines her head. ]

[moonlitknight]

[ He shakes his head. She wasn't going to let this go but she had too. ]

Sanae.

I spoke to your shinki. I made a promise to him I intend to keep.

[miraculo]

....A promise?

[ That gets her attention. What would Lu Meng have to say to him? Knowing her shinki and his temper, it probably wasn't anything good. ]

[moonlitknight]

To stay away from you.

I agreed.

[ ---Ah.

That gets her to pause, and for a moment she can only stare at the young man across this screen, trying to figure him out. But what is there to figure out. If he's agreed, then.... ]

[miraculo]

Then promise me that you won't be alone anymore, Zero.

[ She says quietly.

If she is to stay away from him, if Zero agreed to it, then there's not much she can do, can she? ] That the other people you have here, the ones that reach out to you-- that you won't shy away from them. [ Her smile returns, but it's breaking. ] Okay? You-- you have to promise me...

[moonlitknight]

[ He hears her voice breaking and it's all he can do to keep himself in check and breaking the promise he'd made. He could never stand to see people suffer and she was trying to put on a brave front but he can see what she's doing. His hands dig into the table creating indentations in the woodwork as he tried to keep himself grounded even as he denied her request. ]

I can't make that promise.

[miraculo]

...Why?

[ She at least has to know a reason. ]

[moonlitknight]

[ He keeps his face schooled. Steady. Even. Neutral.]

I won't put them in danger.

[miraculo]

...So you'd rather be alone?

[ It seems like the same mistake he made last time. But what else can she say? She's on the verge of tears, but she withholds them from falling. ] That doesn't seem right, but... I truly, dearly hope you won't hurt anyone else.

[moonlitknight]

[ Zero is kind of enough to let her keep her pride and refrains from pointing out her precarious condition. ]

The temple provides me with the bloodtablets I need to keep the bloodlust under control.

I don't know what happened before, but they're all I need.

[miraculo]

[ Blood tablets over friends? That seems... too cruel to do to himself. ]

Is this what you truly want, Zero?

[moonlitknight]

[ A look. ]

What I want doesn't matter.

[miraculo]

[ A frown. ]

What makes you say that?

[moonlitknight]

I regained my memories.

I know my duty.

[miraculo]

What is your duty?

[moonlitknight]

To protect humans from vampires.

[miraculo]

And that must be done alone...?

[moonlitknight]

That's done by Hunters.

[ The same way she was born a priestess with her own duties, he was born a Vampire Hunter with is own special upbringing for the duties he inherited. ]

[miraculo]

Isn't it something we have in common, then? To protect humans?

[ She asks, not quite understanding his logic. ]

[moonlitknight]

[ He nods in agreement. ]

[miraculo]

And it's something many others here have, too. So then... why do you have to be alone in this duty?

[ He had lot control once. He wouldn't let it happen again. ]
