Has anyone ever noticed how many conventionally attractive people there are here? I know it's heaven but there are seriously a lot of attractive people here.

Just a random observation.

One or two of them, I suppose. I'll give you that there aren't too many who are outright homely.

I haven't really seen anyone who looks homely at the least

That does seem unlikely with a random selection, now that you've brought it up. I'd suggest that perhaps our "souls" don't reflect the imperfections of our earthly bodies, but honestly, I don't think I look different from how I did before, or anyone else that I knew from my old life.

Someone brought up reincarnation
If that's the case, these bodies not being the same as they were before we died might be likely too.

You'd think one of the gods would have noticed a change, if that were the case.

But how would we know?
Maybe we shinki were reincarnated, the gods were just brought here?

It just doesn't make much more sense than to say that only an unusually attractive group of people could become gods.

you'd think it would be more based on their deeds and their virtues

That, or be entirely random. Or draw primarily from one or a small group of "times" and "realities".

[Granted, none of this magic stuff makes any sense to him, but none of those really seems to be the case, so... what the Hell gives, now that he thinks of it?]

that sounds like something out of a sci-fi comic
but then what we're going through sounds like something out of a fantasy manga to begin with

Something like that, I'd suppose. There are other gods whose past experiences seem like they'd have to be completely incompatible with existence in my own world, at least in the time I came from.
