Someone was nice enough to give me a really easy recipe, so I have that all covered.

[ his gaze soon returns to the stove ] ... we should start cleaning that up.

Scrape it off... [ Haru glances to the side to see if there's anything on the counter before reaching over to one of the drawers. once it's opened, he takes a moment before pulling out a spatula ] ... will this work?

I guess it'll have to. I don't have anything else but a knife and that seems unsafe.

[He reaches over to take it.]

I have some cleaner...but...it's probably not going to be able to handle this until it's more manageable.

[He presses the edge of the spatula against the caked on blob of burnt up mess then pushes against it to start scraping.

Well, there goes that idea.

Makoto holds up the handle of the now-headless spatula.]

....Maybe if I work at it enough with the rough end of a sponge, it'll break up.

[He sighs.]

I'll look up how to clean a burned stove.

[He pulls out his phone and starts googling.]

It says...really hot water and degreaser.

[He looks over at the dishsoap that he also bought from the 100yen store.]

That's supposed to remove grease. Maybe that will work.

[ while Makoto's googling, Haru's poking at the gunk with the now broken spatula, unsure of how to even go about this. at the mention of degreaser, Haru glances back to Makoto before looking towards the dishsoap ]

... guess we'll have to try.

[Ready to deduct more cool points from Makoto? Well here we go.

Well, he gets a bowl of pretty hot water then squeezes some dishsoap on it. Obviously, the bigger the mess, the more soap. (Not an obscene amount, but still way too much.)

He gets the sponge and dips it into the hot water then starts scrubbing.

That's a lot of soap there.

Look at all of those slippery suds.

Is he doing a good job scrubbing? We have no idea, there's just so much soap now.]

[He keeps trying to scrub a little, but his hand slips and ends up knocking over the hot water bowl right over the mess.

That takes care of the soap problem on the stove, but not on the floor...where the soap was pushed away to.]

... what do you mean you didn't know...? [ his growing annoyance disappears once the bowl is knocked over, and he jumps back slightly to avoid getting his feet wet... or scalded... ]

O-Oi... watch what you're doing! You're spilling it onto the floor! We'll slip and fall!
