Then it would probably be best if you either started scrubbing or at least see if they'll be willing to help you scrub.

Though chiseling might be a more appropriate term. How hard is it caked on?

It's caked on here pretty badly.

But I think if I worked at it, I can get it off.

I'll just try cleaning it myself. It's my mess after all.

Hopefully your shinki will be able to see the intention behind the accident or at least appreciate you taking responsibility for your own mess.

That's an admirable trait to have.
