So, uh... having more than one god. How's that all work? Do they get joint custody, and the shinki just lives at each god's temple for a week at a time or something?

But the very thought of having two Gods makes him feel quite literally nauseous, and it's just hard not to kneejerk all over this person.]

how can you be sure this wont hurt your first god

and what if your two gods are ever at odds with one another
what if the other god does something that you feel is wrong
and you end up blighting your first god

That's a lot of what if's. I don't like to think that way. You gotta have more faith in people than that.

I won't let that happen. I'm not gonna use this as an excuse to slack off.

but you have no control over that new name on your body
if the new god turns out to be someone you shouldnt have trusted
you cant make it go away

I'll deal with that when the time comes. I don't regret helping people who needed it.

but when the price for doing so is this steep
how can you just put it out of your mind

I dunno. I guess I'm just an 'act now, think later' kind of a guy.

every time you act in such a way you will take a risk
would you do it again with a new god
and a new god after that
every time you do you would risk someone having a claim on you who might hurt the people you care about

It's a risk, sure, but risks can turn out to be worth it. They ain't always bad.

im just saying you have no way of knowing if it is
and with the safety of someone youre meant to protect in the balance
they should not be taken lightly

Look, I get what you're sayin'. It's not like I'm gonna just run out and make a hundred contracts with other gods just 'cause I can.

i suppose its just
it seems somehow as if other shinki do not feel quite the same way as i do about my god and
i guess i just dont understand it
at all

Well, everybody's different. It'd be boring if everyone thought about stuff the same way.

its not entirely fair to get so upset over it but
i would rather die than do that so it feels scary and wrong

other people need to make their own decisions though

We were busy chasin' dust bunnies out of the shrine, so I didn't have much time to think about it, really. But she seemed like a nice kid.
