I'd like to think that, too, Yamato, but my name from her is gone.

Her temple is gone, too. It's why we can't have classes there.

Nothing about this makes sense. Yamato's convinced Shepard is coming back, but his name hasn't changed, and her temple is still right where it always was. If Hakkai's name is gone, along with Elsa's home, then that must mean she's dead--but then why not automatically assign Hakkai to someone new?

There are a handful of possibilities that come to mind, and Yamato doesn't feel comfortable thinking about any of them. Torture and imprisonment don't seem very divine to him, but... gods are inherently just, isn't that what they say?]

Whoever gave me that name, it seems it won't be taken away.

[It isn't an insult; it's something Yamato's legitimately wondering about. He's never given much thought to his own name, not beyond the nights he's spent wondering about his life as a whole. Compared to the fact that he'd become "Mórrígan-sama's shinki" or "Commander-kun's sword", it hadn't seemed very important.

But Hakkai can't call himself "Elsa's sword" anymore. Even if the remnants of his former life no longer matter in the face of his current existence, if that's all he has, then...

Well. Yamato's never cared to know what his vessel name was anyway. Hakkai will always be Hakkai to him, but he doubts the sentiment would be comforting, so he doesn't say it.]

Perhaps it's the name of the parts of me that won't change.

[But yes, it's also useless, at least in the way that Yamato means. Still... Hakkai's attached to it. Even if he'll need another, it's the one he'll keep.

Maybe that makes them all nora in a way.]

[A constant, a scrap of the past... yeah, Yamato can see the value in that. It doesn't make up for lacking a god-given name, though, and it certainly doesn't make up for lacking a god.

But Yamato barely knows what's happening in his own situation, let alone all of this. And even if he had all the answers, he still wouldn't know what to say to make Hakkai feel better. He does what he can, though; Hakkai is his friend, and he wants to help somehow.]

I think maybe they're saving you for a really great god to make up for elsa-san or until she comes back

Ha ha, maybe so! If she doesn't come back, I'll have to find myself a god, I suppose.
