amaterasu. though i feel like its more they wont fess up instead of them not actually knowing. she said they were investigating but had no proof of anything.

but she didnt seem to understand why i didnt want to be a god in the first place.

What is it that gave you the sense she wasn't telling you everything? Is it just that she said there was no proof?

exactly. she never specifically said they didn't know. they are just investigating but have no proof. they might know something that theyre not telling us.

It's interesting that she wouldn't simply say they have no information.

Perhaps it was an attempt to placate you.

[After all, "we know nothing" encourages individual investigation. "We're seeking proof" suggests it's all under control. He's seen Amaterasu politely dismiss more than one offer to work with the Heavens' investigation, after all.

If there's an investigation at all -- and he doubts that -- then none of the information is ever likely to make it back to them.]

I doubt they trust us any more than we trust them. It's a challenging situation.
