It seems strange that I should only come to you all when things are rough, but that appears to be my sole duty as of late.
I must start this message by apologizing for the behaviors of my brother. His actions were unwarranted and chaotic and I should have seen something like this coming from him. I'm embarrassed to say that we had no idea of what he was scheming, and for all the loss of life and the damages I am truly, greatly sorry.
That said, it pleases us to no end that so many of you new gods and shinki have worked so hard to protect our home and to clean up after the disaster that befell us. We are truly grateful to have good souls like you here with us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Know that we do not plan to punish the other party involved in the destruction that has happened here. We had detained him and are keeping him under close watch for your safety as well as his own. Please understand that we have made the best choice that we can.
Again, we apologize for what has happened and we hope to be able to curb anything like this from ever happening again.
Thank you.

Whether you fought for us or for yourselves, we are still grateful all the same, Nekhbet. Please be assured, though, that your being here was not our doing nor do we have any idea how you came to be here with us.

I've gotten most of the answers I was looking for from others at this point, but recent events have just raised more. If wiping shinki's memories is supposedly for their own good, why are there ones now remembering things? What's the real reason you make them forget?
That's not reassuring, if even you have no idea what the hell's happening here. But only making contact when terrible things happen isn't going to make people trust you or want to help you find out.

The idea of a shinki remembering anything from their life is terrifying to say the least. I was no aware this is something that is happening. I will have to talk this over with my counselors immediately!
You have a point, Nekhbet. I will strive to be in contact more frequently to assuage your fears.

I'm just hoping you'll be as ineffectual doing anything about that. Shinki deserve to know their lives, and whoever's doing this, even if it isn't you, has condemned gods to watching friends become shinki with no way to help them or remind them who they really are.
That's something, at least.

You should know, as a god, just how detrimental the situation you are proposing would be. Please keep that in mind before you speak.

The last shinki I heard talking about it didn't sound hurt, like you claim they are when they remember things. All we know is that memories "hurt" shinki, but if there's a way to get them back without harm, then the only thing it's going to be detrimental to is the ridiculous traditions held here. Or are you going to say this is a bad thing without actually asking the shinki themselves?
[He's got a significant personal investment in shinki memory issues, so he can't really help but lash back at the idea that it's always a bad thing for them to remember.]

But I also guarantee that it is a bad thing.
I'm sorry, that's the only way I can see it.
