[It sure has been a long time since that mysterious romance anon popped up, which is kind of funny considering that they tossed out two chapters immediately after one another the last time he popped up. However, today, well, there's sure an anonymous post up on the network again!]
Some people need to stop wasting my time. I haven't been able to focus on writing for a while now. I'm not sure if this is any good but it's what I got out over the past few months. It's only recently that I've been able to get a lot more time again without needing to worry. Also, thinking of using those dollmaker things to help with visuals for characters. Thoughts? - keiyuki
P.S. I guess this is dedicated to someone I know who's not around anymore.
[Are they going to explain anything about that? Absolutely not. But there are the past chapters to look over for those interested in catching up on this dumb project of theirs.]
[The scene opens up with Casimiro, the protagonist, and his partner, Elio, lingering as they watch a clean up investigation crew in the cells where their perp from the other night has been mysteriously killed. Elio brings up the question on if it was another inmate, and Casimiro's response is that it couldn't be possible- the guy was in a solitary cell. Before they can talk much more, their commanding officer Deacon Caputo storms away from the crew and passes them. As he does so, he mutters, "This isn't right". Neither officer can understand what he means by that, and eventually go back to their desks with the admission that they'll be called for information if it's necessary. However, Casimiro has to admit that something about the situation doesn't feel right, so he looks a little further into the previous night's incident. His investigation brings up that the perp was a bartender in a certain part of town, and those on social media seem surprised that he took drugs at all. Unsatisfied with how "his case" has turned out, even if it's now out of his hands, Casimiro gets off work only to start to head off towards a club and bar district in the city. Elio ends up following after him after bothering him insistently on what he's doing, and Casimiro answers that he's going to see a friend of his to see if he knows anything about some details of the case.]
[This takes them to a club, deeply late at night where it's just preparing, and....]
Even in the still dim lighting of the club, Davide D'Angelo stood out with all the obnoxiousness of a firework that had been loaded into a tanning machine at the highest possible output. Half of him was blazing orange, including his tan: the feather boa wrapped around his neck, the feather coat beneath it, and his gaudy platform shoes. As he made his way down from the DJ set up to where Casimiro and Elio were waiting, Davide pushed his heavily tinted shades further up his nose in a way that guaranteed no one would ever seen his eyes. Casimiro was pretty sure this meant he couldn't see anything either. That never stopped Davide.
"Well hello there Officer," he said. "Not indulging the universal uniform fetish today, I see. I'm going to say that means you don't have a search warrant for harassing me at my place of work, right."
"Not from the state," Casimiro said plainly. "But the court of shutting the hell up." Besides him, Elio gave a sharp laugh. He hadn't heard him use that kind of language before.
"That's not what the state said in bed last night."
Elio took this moment to pipe up. "How do you two even know each other?"
Davide answered before Casimiro could. "We're married."
[They're not married. Rather, they're just old friends who give each other shit constantly. Davide takes them to a private room in back for the following conversation, after Elio stops getting worked up about how the two of them act around each other. There, Casimiro asks Davide about the local bartending scene and about the kind of drugs that get around. Despite describing it in long and overly descriptive way (written a little awkwardly in parts with the writer clearly unused to it), Davide manages to be pretty knowledgeable about the subject. He explains while it's not unheard of, injected drugs tend to be uncommon in his experience, at least in their part of the city. It was easy to make and pop pills, or smoke things like marijuanna. As Casimiro continues through the conversation, Davide reveals there's another drug but, until someone became a hard user, it tended to give a rush before exhausting them.]
[His final words turn serious, as he tells Casimiro and Elio that he knows of a place in town where those types of things tend to be even more common than in the clubs, but they're far away from the usual bar hopping scenes. And he's been overhearing things from club goers that hint they don't want to go anywhere near it...]

Text; from Averruncus
anon until he dies
[Also, he has a cover to maintain or something.]
Yeah. I thought this would be something he'd be amused by.
[Being depicted as a jackass with a feather jacket and boat and platform shoes. That's friendship.]
no subject
Oh, I should mention that your story is getting interesting! I'm waiting to see where it goes.
no subject
[And then a completely separate reply comes a couple minutes later. Yes, Chikusa posted the first by accident.]
unique.
[There's really no other way to describe it.]
I had to read his texts over a few times to get a handle on it. It's still difficult.
And thanks. I'm still working on being good at it. I think it's getting a little easier, although it feels as though I keep changing things.
Text: Anon; cw drug talk
Davide is also very vivid.
[As someone who only talked to Davesprite once on the BBS and never saw him, it's a very HUH description.
There's also advice about clubs and how drugs are distributed, taken, and even some advice on creating new drugs all for the sake of smoothing out the writing. It's as detailed as the sniper advice she's given and there's the sense this is someone who understands how the club scene works.
Before she hits send, Ginia stares a bit at what she's written. Huh.]

Should I stick to just one kind of dollmaker or use a bunch depending on the character? I know there are a lot.
[And oh, are they talking drugs? They are sure talking drugs. This is something that Keiyuki seems to really leap into, considering the highly detailed response he gives. He'll freely admit that the club scene is an area of knowledge he's lacking a bit more (although more because he's underage and would have had a harder time sneaking in, as far as he can remember), but the making of drugs? The drug scene in Italy? He is all about that, and gladly exchanges information.]
[Is that weird? Naaaaaaah. Chikusa doesn't think it's weird.]
no subject
I'm leaning toward using a few. Some of them are a little limited or the style would work better for one character than another.
[It's an interesting slice of information. it's maybe a little bit worrying, but she judges not. Might come in handy one day, who knows. In exchange, Ginia offers more information on the club scene from what she can remember. It's a fair amount as living in and out of clubs means seeing a fair amount of the front and back end of things (not that she remembers the living part). She admits there might be differences country to country, but some things are also commonplace enough that it's fine for the sake of the story.]

Also known as: the DWRP struggle][Just a pair of illegal nerds talking about drugs and clubs. It's a good thing they're both a part of the Far Shore, because this would probably get them arrested otherwise.]

[Go go crime buddies. Should people worry about them? Maybe a little. At least they usually turn their illegal activities toward good?]

[Being dead and all. Chikusa has done it, especially for his fursona and holidays, but it's a pain everytime.]

I wonder if there are any artists around here? You figure someone around here has to be good at drawing people.

Which more people should, by the way. Like how you're posting your story.
Ever think about posting it elsewhere?
no subject
[He... guesses? Chikusa isn't really sure he's doing anything great here, but, well. Okay. Apparently it means something to someone.]
I've posted somewhere else and it seems to be doing alright all things considered. I think people mostly comment on it or favorite it, forget they did so, and stumble onto it all over again.
no subject
That's pretty good. It's not a bad loop, all things considered.
no subject
[Normally, he's fairly cautious about giving away personal information while pretending to be under his writing alias... But, well, he guesses this isn't something that's really a problem anyway, right? After all, plenty of people have had exciting lives, as far as he can tell. Not to mention, it may throw things off his own trail. That kind of sentence is for someone who can remember their past, and that doesn't regularly apply to shinki.]
Yeah, it works out for me. Maybe if they do things like recommend it to other people, it might stick in the mind more. I can't really say.
no subject
Whatever works.
Anyway, good job. If you get around to making the characters on dollmakers or something commissioned, post it with the next update.
no subject
[...So he guesses that's what he's going to be stuck doing for the next month or so, off and on.]
posted at about 3am
But I like it. It's a good story. I can't wait to see what happens.
[He had made the mistake of checking his phone before bed and spend a long time reading all the previous chapters. He might regret it in the morning.]
no subject
Regular cats or otherwise?
no subject
[If he does say so himself.]
no subject
Cats do seem to be pretty popular.
[Both regularly and as people with cat attributes. Chikusa has seen a lot of manga characters with cat ears.]
I'm wondering if it should be a regular house cat or something more wild. And also how to implement that kind of character, obviously.
no subject
[Whatever that gap was, obviously. A cat could do anything.]
no subject
Then I'll think over the details. It might take a little while to implement. I don't want to do this too poorly.
[Amateur poorly and purposefully half-assed are two different things, after all.]
I guess I'll be doing a lot of research on cats then. I thought there weren't too many, but I thought that about romance cliches as well.
[And there... are so many... cliches and tropes... about romance.]
no subject
Yeah humans make romance way more complicated than it has to be. If you need help with cat research let me know and I'll help. [He's an expert after all.]
no subject
[Actually, they always are. Always. Chikusa is pretty certain on this.]
Then, what are some cat things that humans wouldn't think about normally, do you think?
no subject
[Other cat things...] Fish is really important to cats, your shifter detective will want to spend most of their pay on fish of some kind. Other food is good too.
no subject
This sounds like you know all of this from experience.
no subject
no subject
[This might as well happen.]
Then when I finally decide to implement this sort of character, could I contact you again for some beta reading? To see if I have the portrayal right.
no subject
This is my number, so just contact me when you want.
no subject
Let me know if you get any cat preferences in the mean time.
[Gotta pick that species and all.]
no subject
Or... Not. You can be in touch with me. [It's hard to contact an anonymous person after all.]
Text; from Kairi
anon eternally
[Most people don't seem to struggle with basic ass human relationships, after all.]
We never said as much but I guess we were. We spent a lot of time with each other.
non-anon eternally
I'm glad that he did have friends like you at all.
[ Oh if only Kairi knew. ]
no subject
[He does take another few minutes to respond to her, however.]
Friends don't seem to last long around here. It's one of the more unpleasant things about this place.
[Chikusa doesn't mind being dead, or that time when there were serial murders, and he can put up with nonsense like the cult's dragging them into Heaven's incompetence... but he could do without losing people like this so much.]
[...He's anonymous. And he's not open about this vocally, or with his name attached, generally. Maybe it's alright to be a little more open.]
I would have liked to do a little more for him.
no subject
[ She of course has no problems being that open regarding Davesprite. He was someone she was fascinated by before they ever became a part of the same temple. ]
But when you say a little more for him... does that mean you might keep writing about that character, at least? It seems like your chosen way of honoring his memory.
no subject
Do you think I should?
no subject
no subject
Is that something that's important?
[And then he replies a minute later.]
I'm still relatively new to writing. I've been trying to focus on basic stuff such as how good my grammar is or that the story makes sense. I didn't think about how this sort of thing would affect it.
[And, frankly, he's not even sure what to call "this sort of thing".]
no subject
I guess that makes sense why including a friend came rather suddenly.
Well, anyway... if you do include more parts of the story with him in it, I might read those.
no subject
[...Any hobby. Anything a normal person would do for fun. Anything that would, you know. Make a person a person instead of a tool. He's doing his best.]
[...He's also not surprised that Kairi is like this. Is the friendship just a thing she likes, or is it, like... a normal people thing to like....?]
Why is it interesting?
no subject
But if you're enjoying it, then I hope you'll continue - no matter what!
no subject
As long as I'm here, I'll continue.
no subject
Good luck with your efforts.
no subject
Thanks.
