Is anybody else still thinking about what happened with that school? I never did manage to dig up much information about that new principal, and we defeated the ayakashi, but still....

Did anyone figure out where he was from? Or what he was really doing?

That seemed like some high-level magic for a public school administrator to be throwing around.

It does. Children can be rather susceptible to the influence of ayakashi so it isn't unheard of for them to be targets.

[ There's momentary relief of the lack of masks though. ]

Were you ever told what happened to the teachers?

You think going after kids means it's more likely to be the ayakashi in control instead of the human controlling the ayakashi, huh?

We heard the teachers were out sick. I couldn't find out any different. Did you hear anything?

Perhaps. But I'd rather not jump to conclusions. Did you ever find out what they wanted the children for?

I only heard from Hajime that something happened in the school and now this, from you. I haven't heard anything else.

Okay. I wasn't sure if the older gods might've learned more.

... I don't know what he wanted the children for, but I think it was probably some kind of energy drain spell. It could've been the work of the ayakashi, too. It stopped when the ayakashi was defeated, at least.

The only thing we can be certain of is that ayakashi were behind it. But it sounds far too organized for mere ayakashi.

It's an educated guess but there could very well be someone behind it all. That wouldn't be too far fetched to assume... but until we have definite proof, I'd say to prepare for bigger trouble along the line. After all, if ayakashi are now capable of strategy, who knows what else they can do.

[ Are they getting smarter? That's terrifying. ]

There's got to be something more going on.

There were some pretty weird ayakashi around the park that time with the chocolates, too, I heard. Attacking us instead of going after the humans.

What was strange was how they seemed connected to the chocolate. I can't help but think we were set up. There was hardly any warning, save for being told not to eat any of it.

[He's not even going to talk about that on the network, but a few minutes later, he's going to text her phone...]

We have to have been set up. It's the only thing that makes sense. The chocolate didn't even seem weird unless we ate any -- we could handle it to pass it out just fine.

I think one of Amaterasu's advisors has to have done it. Somebody who wanted to turn us all against Heaven.

[ Smart boy. It's bad enough she's had to deal with heaven one time... ]

Our instructions were to hand them out. If we were warned against eating them, then it's clear we weren't meant to be infected by the ayakashi. If these two incidents are connected, someone's either gathering human souls or consuming them at an alarming rate.

If one mastermind is behind this, they could be raising an army of ayakashi.

Weren't meant to be infected or they didn't want us to figure out there was anything wrong with the chocolate until it was too late... if that's it, they did a pretty good job.

You know, I think you might be right about the ayakashi. It makes more sense than any of my ideas.

Their motives seem to be either multiplying them or strengthening them. Either way, this is all guesswork until we find something clearer.

Perhaps if we were to return to the school there might be something left to look into.

Yeah. Yeah, if we can figure out who's really doing it... I don't think it's just that principal, do you?

[It's too big to just be one mortal. Well -- probably. If this guy has plans like Muraki... but would the Heavens have failed to warn them if he were that big of a threat?]

Anyway, I think we're going to have to go back. I'll text you when we're sure when we're going.
