My new shinki woke up grumpy this morning. He may also be planning on sneaking in where he shouldn't be. I'm both apologizing in advance, and sharing an image of his current appearance just in case:



He likes dried fish, large pillows, and ear scratches. Be wary of touching his tail or his belly, and especially do not offend him by claiming that he is an inferior creature. I will not be held responsible for the damages he will cause.

[Waking up as a cat had been a little strange but also felt completely natural so Da Qing hadn't minded at all. After checking he could change back (thumbs are really useful alright) he had been happy to explore as a cat. It seemed there was a lot cats could do that humans couldn't. Places to go where no one notice him.

His god however seemed to have read his mind. Da Qing read the message over his gods shoulder, perched on the back of the chair, sulking.] Why'd you show everyone? I wasn't going to do anything wrong.

[ He has to angle the phone so Da Qing couldn't see the screen whenever he opens up the conversation between him and Ginia, but otherwise is enjoying things. The trick with texting and browsing on his phone had finally gotten through his technology-problem head and it was interesting. If only now he doesn't burn it out by accident. ]

There are larger and hungrier creatures out there. I just want to make sure you don't end up being chased by a three-headed Hell hound or a dragon.

[ Not that he was scared that Da Qing would be helpless, not. He just knew that the cat would not enjoy the added exercise of being chased around. ]

Have you found anything interesting in the temple while exploring this morning?

[ He was sure that this place had shifted to give the cat-shaped newcomer something to explore. It never stayed the same outside a few places and Shen Wei believed that it had to do with the nature of Xuanwu - a dark wizard indeed. ]

A dragon couldn't best a cat. I'd like to meet the creature that thinks they could eat me.

[He's a little suspicious about the screen tilting but he's assuming Shen Wei is texting his boyfriend. So he doesn't try too hard to peek.]

I would like that you don't get chewed on. Think about how it would stink.

[ He's trying to find a reason to make Da Qing to not go off facing weird animals that may be kept by other gods in this place. He already figures that the cat Yashou should have enough fun playing with the animals in his own gardens. ]

I hope you and him discussed things so he won't go sulking and refuses to make your fish snacks.

I'm Da Qing, I won't get chewed on. [Like any other animal could chew on him. Impossible.

His nose twitched.]

He might be sulking, it's not my fault he didn't expect a cat to talk. He better still make me fish, he's the one who insulted me. [Da Qing was no stray.]

Of course you won't, however I tend to err on the side of caution.

[ He tries to sound stern but really he sounds more like he's losing that battle, especially as he reaches up to give the cat a scratch under the chin. Look, Shen Wei was many things but he still his soft at the sight of fluffy animals like him. ]

I will let him know. [ It would work out since Yeye will still make that fish and Shen Wei will still probably slip it to Da Qing. But he thinks about it for a moment. ] But in the meantime, can you do something for me?

[His fluffiness is just another weapon in his arsonal of things that make him a superior creature. There's a reason cats are best.

But he appreciates chin scratches and purrs happily. Shen Wei is a pretty good god. He introduced Da Qing to dried fish even before he knew Da Qing was a cat. He would talk to Yeye and smooth things over. Da Qing opened one eye lazily at the request.]

Go to the gardens and make sure that the animals there understand they are to listen to you as well as me. I do not want them to think that you're such a push over.

[ He wasn't sure if this was the best idea, but Shen Wei could not let any of those turtles attempt to take a piece out of Da Qing. He would never live it down with Yunlan if he did. ]

[Well that is a task he can definitely do! Making sure those animals know their place is important and a task well suited to Da Qing!

He was no pushover and they would learn that soon.] Very well, I will make sure they know their place.

[He springs off the back of the chair, surprisingly graceful for such a large cat.]

[ He didn't want him to feel that the dried fish wasn't coming. Of course he would need to also make sure that the temple wasn't creating extra spaces for Da Qing to crawl around while in cat form. He didn't trust it to not harm the curious Cat Yashou by sheer accident. ]

Thank you. [It is only proper that Yeye know that he, Da Qing, is not in the wrong in this argument. No one would like being called a stray.
