But what's happening is fairly obvious.

It's a guitar battle. Hibiki on acoustic guitar, her opponent on electric bass. They are managing to make it work.

But both of them are incredibly in the moment, here. If you want to get their attention, you might have to yell. ]

Well, no matter. His talent is real no matter with whom he choose to associate. In the long run, that - and not the company someone keeps - is what gives a person merit in Shikyoin Hibiki's eyes. ]

Anyway, we both realized we like music and so became quick friends. I play the guitar and since he plays the bass, it's something we can both relate to. Sometimes we practice together.

[ Hibiki refuses to be cowed by the stare, but, point taken. "Love me, love my band." It's an understandable impulse - and, to be fair, she hasn't heard Yui perform. Her only judgments of the girl spin off personality, which is hardly the ideal basis. Competence: that is the trait that moves Shikyoin Hibiki. Defective performers need not apply! ]

Then I'll look forward to confirming that excellence.

[ A smirk for Yui. You're the type who gains fire via adversity, then? In that case! ] Don't disappoint me.
