Our current system could use improvements.

For that reason, I'm looking into two prospective methods:
— An ayakashi detection network
— An emergency contact system

I think it's worthwhile to see if those with mechanical and programming skill could create a network of monitoring devices that specifically respond to an ayakashi's darkness. This would enable us to detect them sooner and dispatch them more efficiently.

And this system would be used in conjunction with an automatic forwarding system. A message concerning detected ayakashi and location(s) would be sent out to any volunteers on a mailing list.

In addition to this, the emergency contact system could be used by gods or shinki to notify others when they're in need of assistance. Anyone who volunteers to be respondents on that system will have messages automatically forwarded to them, so they can assist in handling threats.

If anyone is interested in making this work, respond with relevant skills and what aspect you want to participate in. In my case, I can Hold the Fort but I can't Kill Ayakashi. I have knowledge of Coding, but not Mechanics.

[ooc: In response to a whole mess that resulted in needing to name a shinki to save him from being consumed and the blightstorm that followed, he's of the impression that certain provisions should be made to avoid the necessity of such last-ditch options.

Also! Please feel free to thread hop/jack! By all means coordinate efforts with folks of similar skills/abilities or heckle each other. Hoping this gives people something to play with]

Yeah, Add gets on my case if I'm not careful. So far nothing's been much of a threat to me, it's just that I can't dispatch them.

It'd be weird if there were two of the same god. How would anybody know who they're praying to?

There's a half-dozen moon gods or so. Does it matter which one?

Well, people don't just pray to "you know, whoever does that one thing," right? They pick somebody specific. If you swoop in and start fulfilling prayers for other gods just because you're both moon gods, nobody's gonna give you the credit.

I guess not, but how do they decide which one to begin with?

In the end I don't care much about credit as long as it's done.

Beats me. I guess that depends on the person. How would you pick somebody to pray to?

That's easy. I wouldn't.

Okay, but if you did. We're speaking in hypotheticals here!

Wouldn't you want the one related to what you wanted to pray for, in that case?

So if you have six moon-gods, any one of them should do.

Yeah, but, even if certain gods do certain things, everybody's got their own favorite topics, right? Like... maybe a soldier would pray to a war god even if he were asking about stuff that wasn't war.

Plus I guess if it were me, I'd pick whoever seemed the most powerful. Or the coolest.

Beats me. I'm not actually looking for one.

So I guess being more famous to start with has the greatest advantage.

I know I get a pretty big holiday, compared to other moon-gods. Didn't think much of it except that I get free cake.

I'd pray to somebody for cake.

I don't see why not. I bet people pray for dumber things.
