Greetings! I know that some of you met me the other day during the training session at the Heaven's meeting hall, but I would like to formally introduce myself to those who haven't. I am Ebisu, God of Fortune regarding commerce and fishing.

I've been very busy as of late, but things have slowed down enough that I think I will be able to interact with this new generation of gods and their shinki. I hope to work alongside all of you as best as I can.

Please treat me well.

To tell the truth, I haven't tried fishing in a long time! I generally spend more time around my garden.

But I'm glad to hear you're good at it. That must be a relief for your shinki.

Medical and culinary herbs, yes. Although it's not so clear-cut a distinction as it may sound.

May I ask what you mean?

Well, you see, many herbs that are most well known for their culinary attributes, such as turmeric or aloe, also have medical applications. Aloe makes an excellent salve for burns and rashes, and turmeric invigorates the blood and benefits the spleen and stomach. Of course, in general, close attention to the balance of the aspects of each food and herb one consumes helps to promote overall good health...

... or so it's said.

I see. You've taken to your station very well, Hakkai-san.

What herbs and other plants would be recommended to deal with people who have a heavy workload?

Enough sleep, exercise every day and well-rounded meals.

[Or, in other words: lighten up on the workload a little if it's bad enough to demand medical help.]

If there's not enough time for that?

Then I would prescribe a lighter workload. Medicine isn't a good solution for an unhealthy lifestyle, you know!

Excellent. I may invite other guests as well, to not distract us from our work too long, but I'm not sure if that sort of thing is better done on one day or spread throughout the week.

Oh, that wouldn't be a problem at all! But how much are you planning to cover while we're there? If it's more than a few hours' worth, it might be best to spread it out, of course.

I don't plan to interrupt any of my shinki at work.

I will probably keep it restricted to a meeting room and some other more public areas. Unless you want to learn about economics, Hakkai-san?

To be honest, I'd be very interested in learning about modern economics. Of course I understand the basics, but transportation and electronic communication in this world make it very different from what I'm familiar with.

Then maybe we can spend a week on various aspects of it so that my temple doesn't skip over too many interesting details. This will definitely require a little more planning but I'm looking forward to it.
