Does anyone out there know how to make weapons? Or have access to ones that aren't the usual sort you see around the temples?

I've been using this sword, a katana, for a while now, but I'm starting to feel the small differences between what I'm using and what my body expected are holding me back. Trouble is, I'm not sure just what I'm after, either, so that makes it harder... but I want to see if I can find a weapon that truly fits me. Something like I used when I was alive, I guess.

There's a shinki named Archer that might be able to help you out. He's made some pretty impressive weapons for training with at his temple.

Thanks for the point. Do you know if he uses magic or any other supernatural abilities to make them? I might need that... I'm not sure yet.

It'll be all right if I don't. I haven't had to go all-out yet, I haven't been slowed down. But you know, sometimes you just want to be sure you can reach your potential, even if you never need it.

I get that. I use guns but there's not a lot of space to shoot and I've been warned ammo is limited so I only get to practice when the Meeting Hall is open and can use their supplies. My skills are fine, but I'm not getting the practice time I really want.

There's a good chance it needs to be lighter than it should be given its size.

If you need it to feel lighter, wouldn't it just be easier to get stronger?

Maybe, but I'm thinking it may need to be a little... special. I'm not sure what I expect in terms of size is the same of what I need in speed.

Maybe? Probably, but I'm not sure. And it's possible if someone took that role, they... aren't actually good at it...

I know how to make bows and arrows, but making swords on the other hand, I don't know about that.

I think that's a pretty handy skill to have around the far shore...

Bows and arrows. I know at least a few people who like them, and generally the Far Shore seems to value them as traditional weapons.

Well, they're easier to master than a sword and close range battle, so it's a good weapon. And you don't have to be a blacksmith to make them.

A custom weapon, huh? That might be something I should look into as well. You might have better luck asking someone from the Far Shore, like a god, who can do weapon commissions. You'd think there would be some sort of directory since there's more or less a god for everything.

Weapon makers do exist on the Near Shore but they are rare. Not to mention, depending on the level of customization, it will be costly.

Well, that's... kind of what I'm trying to do here. I'm not even sure someone on the Near Shore could do what I need done. It might take magic or something.

I bet. From what I've read, they mostly do it to continue the crafting tradition or weapon recreation purposes.

If you hear anything, I'd like to know who to hit up for weapons. My powers and fighting skills are nice but never hurts to be prepared for anything.

Well, I suppose they are quieter than guns with no modifications but it could be out stubbornness to keep with tradition. I'm honestly more of a close range type of fighter, to be honest, so I'm just speculating there.

I honestly can't see myself as a god either. Still, I do wish us shinki can deal the finishing blow to an ayakashi.
