Does anyone out there know how to make weapons? Or have access to ones that aren't the usual sort you see around the temples?

I've been using this sword, a katana, for a while now, but I'm starting to feel the small differences between what I'm using and what my body expected are holding me back. Trouble is, I'm not sure just what I'm after, either, so that makes it harder... but I want to see if I can find a weapon that truly fits me. Something like I used when I was alive, I guess.

Archer's teaching me archery, in fact. It's certainly different than firing a gun, but I like it so far.

That... sounds sensible. I've seen some pretty amazing feats of archery from people here, so no question it can get the job done.

I have too. It seems like it'd be more inconvenient to carry around a bow and arrows, but I guess no one notices us anyway so it's not like we stand out.

[And all things considered, a bow and arrows stand out way less in Japan than guns.]

They might be better channels for spiritual energy. [Based on what he's seen Yona do, he knows they are good channels indeed.] Also they don't involve carrying explosives around, which might have problems in the Far Shore...

Bullets are pretty stable. Did something happen recently in the Far Shore involving explosives?

You're a shinki. You can cast spells now and that sort of thing. Might not be as lacking as you think.

I'm not sure if explosives were involved, but someone did set fire to Amaterasu's temple...

That's an exception??? I don't think I can do any magic outside of shinki stuff.

I don't know about you, but the shinki stuff is a lot more magic than I could do.

This is all more than I can do. All of my abilities are pretty physical.

Does anyone know who set the fire and/or why?

Is this also related to the gods not really interacting with us much?

I don't think anyone ever found out anything for certain. If they have, they're keeping it quiet.

The gods....

The gods here just don't think or act like us. They're different. I don't think they understand us. I'm not certain they want to deal with us. I think we're just -- more insulting to them than anything, even if it isn't personal.

I wonder if this upcoming meeting that's taking over everything is supposed to change things? They're letting us help out--for better or worse--so that's some kind of change, right?

We have the power to make them change. We have the power to make a difference, if we just use it.

It isn't easy. It isn't fun. But it's there.

I'm all for changes in the system, but I'm willing to give the meeting a chance. If some good comes out of it, good. If nothing changes, then we'll talk.

Still makes me a bit uneasy though. Everyone gathered in one place?

That's the safest place. We're a pretty fierce group, you know.

Listen, if they mention something about a goddess named Orihime, that she's being restored? That's how you know things can change and get better. Keep an ear out for that.

That I don't doubt. With all the wards set up, I doubt ayakashi will make it in and if they do, they probably won't last long. But if everyone is one place, that leaves a whole lot of other places vulnerable.

Orihime? Will do, though what's the story there?

She made a mistake a long time ago. A long time ago, and she's been paying for it ever since. She neglected her duties for her husband, so she was demoted, and only allowed to see him once a year.

Maybe that was a fair punishment. I don't know. But it lasted too long.
