Sorry for not being real active on here. Not too good at talking to folks.

It kinda occurred to me when I was talking to Miss Sakura that I ain't been doing a good job of listening to a friend of mine back home. Calill, she fought along with me in the wars, and she always was trying to get me more used to stuff. When I went back home a lil bit ago, she was pushing me hard to get better at talking to folks and, ya know...being social?

So uh...was wondering if folks wanted to do stff, like if folks wanted a training partner? I can't do much cept for using polearms and plant powers, since I ain't learned much archery 'cept for what Takumi's taught me, but it's always good to learn to defend against different things.

For folks that ain't big into training, I was thinking maybe tea or crafts or gardening? Don't gotta be nothing big, just one on one stuff...oh, and bunnies to play with.

What kind of crafts?

Well, I know how to do buncha things. Sewing, stitching, some woodworking (not super detailed but I know how to build stuff. If I sit down long enough though I can whittle something nicer.)
I've taken up making flower arrangements recently, too. I had no idea some flowers even existed before I came here!
Oh and cooking and baking. I like baking a lot.

Anything in particular ya looking for?
Probably not thinking of all of em. Bunnies running around is a mite distracting.

Can you teach me how to sew and cook? I don't know how to do either, but them seem useful to know. I can offer sparring practice in exchange.

Aw, it's just country stuff I grew up doing. Nothing too fancy. But thank ya all the same.

I sure can. Taught my sisters both, shouldn't be no trouble at all.

Hand-to-hand and knife-fighting for close combat, firearms for long range.

In the country it is, at least. Can't afford to pay someone to mend every lil thing, so ya learn. I'm the eldest child too, so I had to help out with that when I wasn't in the fields.

I've always wanted to learn those first two, though I don't know nothing about firearms. I'm pretty open for time, to be honest. When would ya like to start?

Two skills for two skills is an even trade. And I guess we can start whenever? Is there anything you want me to get to prepare?

Quiet, for one. When we lived back in Ohma before I moved us to Melior, everyone was real spread out. It can take a bit to get to town from where our house was. Even in the walls of the capital in our new home, it takes bout an hour if we're carting stuff.

I'd say it's hard, too. You've gotta do a lot of manual labor not just for your own family, but gotta have stuff to sell, too. But when somethin happens, folks step up. Even when I had trouble talking to people, folks helped me keep the farm running so my family didn't go hungry.

But I love it anyway.

As for preparing, can't say there's too much. If ya want to do it in the morning after I get done with my early work, though, I'd say make sure to get a good night's rest and a good breakfast. Other than that though I can't think of much, other than if ya got armor I suggest bringing it.

It sounds like a nice place. It's good people are willing to help each other out when things are hard.

It is. As much as I have grown to like this place I do miss Crimea a bit.

Bruises don't bother me, but if you think I should get some, I'll look into it. Know any shops I should go to?

Starting with hand-to-hand would be a good way to warm up. Go from there?

What kind of gardening are you most comfortable with?

I'm comfortable with just bout anything, being a farmer and all. Since I can make plants grow with my powers here, I'd say I've gotten even better at it. Learning how to take care of rice now too.

But I have been curious since I have started a small garden to grow vegetables and would not mind an opinion if it being done well.

Aw neat! Ain't too many o'us 'round here. Though it's funny, I have to use that term round here cause apparently 'lances' are different in this world. In my world a lot of polearms get called that...I've been trained in several of em though, and know how to use a staff mostly, too. What do you use?

Lance, such a good choice! I've been taught how to fight with a sword, an axe, bow even- but spears are my specialty and weapon of choice! I was given an amazing spear by my teacher once, a great female warrior, sadly not well known in this land. It didn't made the trip with me, here I just have a staff.

I'm so glad to meet a fellow lancer, though. People here these days seem to favor different weapons. Warms my heart, really.

As for gardening, not sure if I have a preference per se. Right now I have a herb garden, due to the nature of my temple, but I've seen some part-time job offers around Near Shore either for gardener or florist and been wondering if maybe not pick something up like that...

Aw, sorry to hear that bout the lance. If ya need one to use for a bit I can give ya one of my extras. I tend to collect em even if some of the ones I have extr of aren't the best in the world. But even a weaker lance can shine in a good lancer's hand!

There's really not enough of us. Even if I'm all for people having their preferences it's so good to run into another user.

I've been selling a little of my produce myself and doing some odd jobs. But I think I'm going to need to find something more permanent too. I'd rather not have to scrimp by.

I won't say no. My shinki is sort of blacksmith- [ That's an understatement, really ] -so he made me few for training purposes. But if I can't have the real thing, I'm going to enjoy every different variant that is around. It's always lot of fun how the different kinds work differently- you know, the weight, the length, hell even the wood the shaft is made of it affects a lot in how you move. The speed, the reach and so on.

You're Athena, right? Or do you prefer a different name? [ He's assuming she's a god, since Athena is a Greek goddess ]

And as for the garden, so you were growing vegetables or grain crops? Either would need a vastly different soil and area for successful growth. [ He's asking because he's assuming it from the word "produce", hardly use in the context of flowers, so he's assuming more down to earth garden ] But I think you'd want to try some less popular vegetables around here, it's hard to compete with locals, so you gotta beat them by having unique stock!

I can join you for training. But I'm a swordsman than someone who uses polearms.
