From: Artemis
I've got a question! Since there's a lot of different gods, am I supposed to treat the ones from the religion my god is from like family? And does anyone else have animals like deer or anything else at their temples?
Oh, and does anyone know how to put a blessing on objects? My shinki can't come inside the temple, and I don't think he likes sleeping in a tent too much.

First, give your new family a chance. Just because you don't share blood as you currently are doesn't mean you can't come to care for each other.
Second, I've observed birds, bats, and various insects at my temple, all pollinator species as far as I've been able to determine.
Third, I don't know any blessings myself, but Asato Tsuzuki uses ofuda magic, so you might ask him as a starting point.

I think birds are pretty normal everywhere. Are you talking about hummingbirds?
What's ofuda?

The rest of your pantheon, or at least the ones actually related to your predecessor. Everyone needs friends and allies, and with them you already have a starting point.
Hummingbirds, yes, as well as sunbirds and honeyeaters. None of these are native to Japan, however, and neither are the bats or many of the butterflies I've seen.
Ofuda are a type of talisman crafted by writing on rectangular slips of paper. It's a magic thing.

I don't know those two other birds, but I know bats! They're fruit bats, right?
I've seen those around Koriko. They repel vicious spirits from the bathhouse. Someone told me they were just called prayer slips.

Of course, it should have occurred to me. The proper function of a family is to support each other above even the call of friendship, to curb each other's bad behaviors when possible, and to share in whatever joys may come. When they work properly, they're one of the best things you can have.
The birds are charming and the bats many and varied. You can come see them sometime if you like.
Prayer slips is a rather accurate translation, although I'm not sure prayers are always involved. It's not a type of magic I've ever had an affinity for, so I'm afraid my knowledge is limited.

[It sounds so simple...]
Really? I'd like that! If you like deer, you can come visit my temple, too.
My magic isn't like that at all. Though are the wishes you fill out for Tanabata on paper slips supposed to come true? Some of them back in Koriko did.

That's all. Doing so unconditionally and finding the right balance between supportive and disciplinary can be trickier than they sound, but I think you'll get the hang of it.
That sounds lovely. I'll look forward to it!
They are, although I can't remember the last time I met anyone at home who could consistently make them work as intended. Either the rules vary between worlds, or you were surrounded by people with a knack for using them.
