Unless the area you intend to plant it in is particularly dry, you'll want to plant it somewhere that it'll get a lot of sun. Water regularly, but let the soil dry out between every watering, because otherwise you'll get root rot and it'll kill the plant. Their season is generally spring through fall, but this being an otherworldly realm, I'm not entirely sure that'll matter too much.
There are different ways to improvise, to be honest. Some people use indoor lights, I think, although I've got a lot of sunlight at my temple so it's not much of a problem for me. If you want I can bring them to you and see what you're working with?

Depends. Which one? There's 250 species within that plant family. If you want the one most want, known as nepeta cataria, I've got some of those.
