[Hello, Far Shore.
What greets you today are the wonderful faces of these dinosaurs. They both look livid.]
Hey! Don't scare people off if you want answers!
[The dinosaurs seem to huff but back off as Gohan appears on the screen.
The god rubs the back of his head, looking sheepish.]
Uh, sorry about that, but I was wondering if anyone's seen a couple of eggs. They look like this. [He directs the screen to the nest of eggs.] It's not anywhere around my temple grounds so if anyone sees them around, mind bringing them back?
[A brief pause as Gohan looks back at the dinosaurs before looking back at the screen.]
They're supposed to hatch soon so it'd be good if the eggs are returned safely. Thank you.
[And before the feed ends, the one of the left releases a deafening roar.]

Alright. I'll be there as soon as I can.
[Though, when she does eventually arrive, she won't exactly be knocking on the front door. Lingering back as a means of being ware of dinosaurs seemed like the smartest options. She was pretty sure Gohan would either be able to sense her or see her soon enough, anyway.]

After managing to calm the dinosaurs, he comes to greet her, coming down to land in front of her.]
Glad you can make it.
no subject
Happy to help.
Have there been any developments in the meantime?
no subject
[Two people who are important to Goten. Go figure.]
no subject
I know the name Aymeric. [Two guess from whom] But I'm not sure I recognize Sharak.
no subject
[And reminds him a bit of his mother and Bulma.]
no subject
Are you certain it was him?
[She wasn't mad or sad or even disappointed. If anything, her expression betrayed confusion.]
We only spoke a couple of times, but he doesn't strike me as the kind of kid who would go around taking people's dinosaur eggs without asking.
no subject
[Along with the fact that Emizel admitted it was Goten.]
He probably did it with good intentions, but he did pretty much commit a kidnapping.
no subject
[Heaving a sigh, she folded her arms across her chest and tried to think.]
A kid kidnapping anyone is a little different than an adult doing it, though. I'm not saying he shouldn't face any consequences, but...I do kind of hope they go easy on him.
Did he ever do anything like this back home?
[Yeah she wasn't even going to pretend she didn't know they were family by now.]
no subject
[He laughs sheepishly.]
Kidnapping? No. But he and Trunks did get into a lot of trouble together.
[Those were the good old times.]
no subject
[Of course, because Mai could think more on that, Gohan's response to her question processed, and she did a double take.]
...they did?
[It wasn't the trouble part that surprised her. It was the part about them causing trouble together.]
I had no idea they knew each other before.
no subject
[But this confirms his own suspicions.
He eyes her.]
You're from a different timeline, right? Just about the same timeline Trunks is from?
no subject
I am.
no subject
Gohan frowns, arms crossed.]
It's not my place to ask this, but can I ask what happened? The last time I've seen that Trunks was a long time ago, after all.
no subject
The last time...
[Trunks had told her about that. Not the whole story, of course, but it was enough to give her a timeline to work with. Gohan would have been young. The Androids would have only just been awaken, if even then. And...something about a creature named Cell.]
How much were you told about the Future?
[There was little point in rehashing something if he already knew. Better to focus on the details he didn't.]
no subject
[Is that clue enough?]
no subject
That fight was years ago, by our time. I didn’t know him well yet, but I knew it took little effort after his trip to the past to defeat them. Cell, too.
But then...it was a year ago. I think. Maybe more, maybe less. [Talking about the androids wasn’t so hard, despite the terror they had caused already. But it was here her eyes hardened. The eyes of someone much older, who had seen more than a lifetime’s worth of pain and sorrow.] A new enemy appeared. Stronger. Faster. More ruthless than anything Earth had ever seen. He wanted to kill all humans. That was his only goal. For months and months, he hunted us down. We...we lost so many friends.
[Shu. Pilaf. Bulma.]
Trunks and I did our best to keep fighting, but even then...it wasn’t enough. We needed help.
[Here, she paused, allowing Gohan a moment to absorb that much.]
no subject
The androids were defeated, that was a good thing, but something stronger came out. It makes him frown, unhappy that even while one danger has past, another appeared. And this time, it's enough to ruin the small semblance of peace Trunks has managed to attained.
Has the Bulma in the future died as well?]
Needed help.... [He trails off, and Gohan feels a sense of deja vu at those words.] You guys went back in time again.
no subject
Trunks did.
The plan was for me to go with him, but...we were attacked before we could make it to the Time Machine. I don't remember what happened after that. I must have been knocked unconscious, because when I woke up, he was gone.
[Her eyes closed, and she took a moment for a deep breath before continuing.]
I wanted to believe that he'd succeeded, even without me. I couldn't give up hope that easily. So I returned to the bunker and told everyone he went to the past to get help. And I waited.
He did come back some time later, and he had Goku and Vegeta with him. [Her eyes glistened slightly at the memory. The mixture of joy and sadness and relief and...] I still remember him calling my name when he found us. He'd thought I'd died. I'd...never seen him looked so relieved. Whatever Black said or did to him that time must have really shaken him.
no subject
No wonder why he hasn't seen Mai before. Better question is if there's even a little Mai around somewhere that he hasn't met yet.
But his eyebrows furrow.]
Black? [That's....a new name.]
no subject
That was what we callled him. Before we knew.
Only recently, we learned who he really was. A kai who had stolen Goku’s body in another timeline. Zamasu...I think it was. He did it for the sole purpose of killing all of humanity. Using Trunks as a means of getting stronger and stronger every time they fought.
no subject
It's one thing to ruin an already destroyed future, but to add his father into the mess by stealing his body? By managing to steal his body in yet another timeline to destroy everyone? He feels a flicker of anger, enough for him to release a small pulse of his energy, causing some of the lesser animals to flinch and run away from him.]
Was that who you were fighting last before you came here?
no subject
Yes.
He had joined with his future self. The Zamasu if our time. One who had wished himself immortal. I remember standing with Bulma—the Bulma of the past—while Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks took them on.
The details after that are a bit hazy, but that’s the last thing I can remember before I woke up here.
no subject
[He trails off, keeping a lock under the sudden surge of emotions he's feeling.
Then there's a pause.]
....What happened to the Bulma in the future? [She did say they lost many friends and then the Bulma from the past was there, too....He feels like he knows the answer to this, but he'd rather know still.]
no subject
Black killed her.
I...wasn’t there to witness it. Trunks was. He told me when he made it back to the apartment we were crashing in at the time.
