Hey! Um... so I've been thinking about this for a couple of days, but I heard....

[He trails off before regrouping. He should've rehearsed this before he started recording it, but he's got no idea how to go back and delete and re-record now. Onward!]

I heard I used to be a god! I mean, I don't remember, obviously, but if I really was, I guess I should say I'm sorry. And I look forward to meeting you all again. And, um.

[Really should have rehearsed.]

I don't owe anybody money, right?

[He laughs uncomfortably and rushes ahead.]

-- Anyway I guess that's about it! Nice to meet you all again! Sorry I forgot!

[Nailed it. Before he can think better of this whole idea, he hastily stops the recording and hits send.]

No, you don't owe me money. But I will say I'm relieved to see that it's alright for you to know of your previous existence as a god.

[ At least she can breathe easy again. Less tension. Always good. ]

Not to my knowledge. It usually happens the other way around: a shinki dying and returning as a god. However, this has only happened amongst you newcomers. It's as surprising to us as it is to any of you.

No, I'm afraid not. No one even knows why you were brought here to begin with.

Shinki were once human, after all. It isn't possible for them to become gods. At least so we believe regarding those who come from this world.

There are rare occasions where a mortal can become a god but usually after some deed or legend that makes people believe they are worthy of being enshrined.

It's never happened like this before, however. They become gods when they reach the heavens. They've never become shinki then ascended to godhood.

No. Certainly not.

Our existence relies on our followers. If a god isn't remembered by anyone, they disappear when they die. Otherwise, we return as children with no memories of our previous incarnation.

A god returning as a shinki and vice versa is unheard of.

I can only imagine it might tie in to how you were brought here. Your circumstances are different from ours.

Somehow it isn't surprising that the rules for all of you are different in turn.

It is... even more with the fact that some of you come from a Japan different from the one you were brought to. It isn't something I'll pretend to understand completely but these are unusual circumstances to say the least.

I've heard of some speak of things that can't be found here. Even if they spoke of places like Japan and Tokyo... things were different.

Certain places that should be there aren't. Humans having abilities Near Shore residents would never posses. Glaring differences.
