[Chikusa actually meant to make this post a while ago, but.... Well. Things happened. Whatever. He's making it now.]

This is for the benefit of what new people who have arrived and all those who ignored Kairi and Yukine's warning here, but I'll repeat it all. It's apparently necessary.

There are three ways to get blight:
1. Touch a person that is blighted.
2. Touch an ayakashi.
3. Feeling guilt.

The first two can be washed away with holy water from a shrine or temple. The last can only be cleaned up reliably if you apologize for your guilt and repent to your god. If you don't and only continue to feel guilt, it will build up.

Shinki carrying too much blight become ayakashi. This should be enough of a deterrent but it's repeatedly been shown not to be.

In the event that a shinki doesn't repent and a god doesn't want to release them, an ablution can help. However, not only is it extremely painful for both shinki and god alike, it requires three separate shinki with extremely powerful borderlines and knowledge of the ablution incantation.

I have taken part in three ablutions in the last two months. I have no faith that people will do the sensible thing. So I'm offering myself for any future ablutions since an ayakashi on the loose in the Far Shore would be annoying. I guarantee that my borderline is reliable and that it won't matter how the targeted shinki reacts.

Just repay me for having to deal with such a troublesome and annoying thing.

A shame I can't help out, I suppose, but there seem to be enough shinki who know the ritual.

Chikusa-san. Though, I'm still intrigued by how shinki can easily be affected by blight like some kind of contamination.

No.

It's an annoying and complicated thing but I guess it makes sense. The difference between ayakashi and shinki are minimal when it comes to the core of things.

You ask someone who knows it.

I suppose you do have a point on it, seeing Shinki are merely-- weapons of Gods after all.
They exist to be used for taking care of Ayakashi.

it kinda spirals when you start doing things you know are wrong. as easy as it is to say all that shit abuot apologizing and admitting all the shit it kinda makes you think its your own business and justify it to yourself

Which other shinki have you worked with on these before? You said it takes three, so unless it's been you and the two others you mentioned every time, there'd have to be more qualified to do it.

Do many people fall into this issue even after reading the pamphlet they give us? Because by the tone of this message, it sounds like it.

How does a shinki learn about the ablution incantation? Is it naturally learned after a while or do we need to do something specific?

The pamphlet is relatively new, but, as I linked, we just had two very experienced people make a post about this and it still happened.

You need to find someone who knows the incantation and is willing to teach it to you. Presumably it could be found in the library somewhere but that isn't a safe bet considering the state of its system.

If it's as disorganized as the Heavens seems to be in getting shinkis acquainted with their gods, then it must be extremely difficult to find.

Yes. However, that was a different situation than with usual blight.
