There are usually at least a few people in it, but no, I wouldn't say it's crowded at all.

My fellow shinki does a very good job of keeping it quiet, too.

[Although Hakkai can't guarantee a complete lack of gunfire.]

And would I be able to take books back?

[Because if he can't, he'll just accidentally wind up (after)living there. Creeping in shadowy corners. With books.]

We don't really have a checkout system yet, but I'm sure if you wanted to borrow a few to take home, we could set one up. A list would do.

I don't think I would need them long. I don't want to crowd the temple, though.

Please let Sanzo know that you have my permission to be there if he becomes annoyed with you.

I didn't realize I needed permission. I wouldn't want to cause trouble.

You don't. Please, don't worry about causing trouble.

[And the fact that he doesn't need permission to be there wouldn't necessarily stop Sanzo from grumbling. Not if he wanted to do his research alone and someone was always there reading. What permission would do is deflect the grumbling Hakkai's way, and he's certain he can handle it.]
