Is there a library freely available for our use?

[No introduction, no elaboration. Just. Point me to the books. How sociable.]

Why yes, as a matter of fact, there's one in Menrva's temple! It's mostly for our students, but if you'd like to visit simply for the books, you would be welcome to do so, Fujishiro.

There are usually at least a few people in it, but no, I wouldn't say it's crowded at all.

My fellow shinki does a very good job of keeping it quiet, too.

[Although Hakkai can't guarantee a complete lack of gunfire.]

We don't really have a checkout system yet, but I'm sure if you wanted to borrow a few to take home, we could set one up. A list would do.

Oh, you'd be welcome! We usually have a few readers in the library.

Please let Sanzo know that you have my permission to be there if he becomes annoyed with you.

[Young book-lovers should clearly be encouraged, after all.]

You don't. Please, don't worry about causing trouble.

[And the fact that he doesn't need permission to be there wouldn't necessarily stop Sanzo from grumbling. Not if he wanted to do his research alone and someone was always there reading. What permission would do is deflect the grumbling Hakkai's way, and he's certain he can handle it.]

[Ah, Fujishiro is sharp as well as book-loving. An excellent combination.]

Because if you have it, you won't be bothered.

Ah, all right!

Please look for myself, Sanzo or Elsa there, and any of us will be happy to check something out for you.

I'm sure you will! You're welcome.

[ Hakkai has painted an interesting (and not inaccurate) picture of Sanzo's behavior, here, so he's just going to add on: ]

Don't make noise or cause trouble, and I don't give a damn what you do or what you want to check out.

[ Why do people keep telling him to not worry? It is a mystery. ]

Then we don't have a problem.

There are numerous libraries and book stores on the Near Shore as well, so you might have better luck there than in a god's library. It depends on what type of books you want to find.

Then look for something located close to a temple. It doesn't matter if it's your own or not, shinki can travel freely between temples of the Near Shore as needed. I'm assuming you're not a god since they don't seem to have many restrictions to instantaneous travel. [which Add would know quite well, since his god always seems to be able to track him down and teleport directly to him whenever he's out too late...]

Then go bother the gods with libraries in their homes. That's as close as you're going to get on this side.

Easier in what way?

If you don't want to wander Near Shore, previous Radegast collected quite a lot of books in his personal library. They're still in his temple. Mostly history, archaeology and a lot about gods and mythologies.

[personal profile] scrap_metal 2016-07-07 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
In a way. It happens to be my room now, but you can borrow the titles that you find interesting.

Unless I'm reading that currently, of course.
[ in that case, queue plz ]
scrap_metal: (looking it up right now)

[personal profile] scrap_metal 2016-07-08 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Kind of. It just has a ton of shelves with books. So more like a private collection.
scrap_metal: (what do you want?)

[personal profile] scrap_metal 2016-07-08 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Previous god Radegast must have collected it. The current one gave it to me to take care of.

[ Apparently being a God is like taking a mantle. ]

A few. I'm not here long enough to get through most of them.

If you don't mind academics books, and compendiums, "Pandemonium and Parade" is pretty interesting.

Is there any particular mythology you're interested? There is a chance I have something about it.

Of course. You can either shoot me a PM on this account, or drop by Radegast temple.
