Good day, everypony! I have a question for you all: when those ayakashi that looked like fireflies came out of the opening near the viewing, at one point there was a giant sword hovering above the scene.

Does anypony know what that was about?

Quite a hard thing to miss. First time I've ever seen anything like it.

Well, running across new things I had never imagined before is no surprise here. But still, that was remarkable for so many reasons, don't you think?

Remarkable, yes. I wonder what triggered it.

I must think it was a deliberate choice on somepony's part. A manifestation like that -- well, it's impossible to think it just came about any other way, don't you think?

I'd want to say yes, but if that was the case, then I wonder what would cause someone to summon it deliberately. That sort of thing is difficult to ignore, after all.

There were not only many ayakashi there, but a portal which was bringing more out all the time that we had to deal with. I know I and others tapped upon some fairly serious magic to address them. Someone else may have done the same.

[lostinshadows]

...Do you think it might have been a shinki then?

[letteropener]

It is possible, but it may also have been a god. Whichever the case, I am confident it was one of the 'new arrivals'.

[lostinshadows]

That does seem to be a good assumption to make. I'm not sure if the old gods are even capable of that.

[letteropener]

I have certainly not seen them do... much of anything, to be perfectly honest.

[lostinshadows]

The only one I've seen do anything at all is Fuujin, but that was more against me than anything else.

Oh? May I ask you to elaborate?

[lostinshadows]

Long story short: I made him angry. So, he decided to use his wind powers on me to make me go away.

[letteropener]

That seems very irresponsible for a god, especially one old enough to be more mature.

[lostinshadows]

To be fair, he was a child when we first met. Some children are prone to tantrums, after all.

[letteropener]

All the more reason such behavior should not be tolerated. Allowing tantrums is bad enough, but in a child with such power?

[lostinshadows]

Getting upset over it won't change what happened. The only thing you can do is actually get the chance to talk to him.

[letteropener]

True, but simply dismissing it as nothing is no good either. And I find it worrisome beyond just the event itself.

[lostinshadows]

What would you have done then if you were in my place?

[letteropener]

That is a very difficult question, and please do not think I am trying to criticize your actions. What I feel is that this speaks ill of the Far Shore as a whole, and that is something we should be concerned with.

[lostinshadows]

The whole way the Far Shore is organized is disconcerting, especially with the way it's evident that there are things they don't trust us with.

That is unquestionably true. And moreover, they seem to have no intention of changing that.

[lostinshadows]

I'm not sure how the other two of the three are, but Fuujin doesn't seem like the type to listen to any of us easily. It'd take some time before they actually acknowledge us.

[letteropener]

Time that many of us may not have. We may need to find another way.

[lostinshadows]

Guess it's time to start plotting on how to make that happen.
