Who: Zero and OPEN

When: During the Haunted Festival Season

Where: The NearShore

What: After he decides to answer a prayer concerning the set-up of one of a handful of Haunted festivals popping up.

Warnings: PG-13

i. The Melted Vampire

[ Why he decided to answer this particular prayer Zero isn't certain anymore. All he knows is that it's hot and vampires weren't meant for the summer sun, so have a tired Zero taking a five minute break under the tree which looks more like a passed out vampire in the shade. ]

ii. Banner Woes

[ The god of the Underworld is standing on top of a large ladder holding onto a banner trying to hook it to a spot just out of reach. He stretches, on his tippy-toes and there! Almost got it, but the moment he moves to hook it on a rush of wind picks up with enough force to snap the end of the banner from his hold making him lose his balance and down down the tumbles hitting the ground with a painful grunt as his banner goes flying off.

This is not his day. orz ]

iii. The Cursed Voodoo Doll

[ You're walking down the street, minding your own business when you see a ten foot, three-headed dog rush past you with a life-sized voodoo doll clutched in its mouth. crashing your way followed by a tired vampire who waves a hand in the air in a menacing manner. ]

Cerberus! Get back here!!!

[ Will you help him? Point and laugh or go on your way, either way you really don't have much choice because the Hellhound has circled around and is making a beeline for you while a bodiless voice yells from behind. ]

Cerberus! No!

iv. Wildcard

[ota. Make your own scenario! ]

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[ You know what he's implying. In fact, he'll further imply it by casually taking that banner from Zero's hand. Yes, he took it. ]

Indeed. I am confident that I can understand things easily once I've seen them.

[ He's just lazy half of the time is all! ]

[ Hey! What do you think you're doing?! Give that back! ]

..........

[ You want to play things this way. Fine. Just don't complain to him later, Ichiru. ]

You don't always get to observe first. Sometimes you have to go in blind.

[ And he's handing him a hammer. Good-luck. ]

[ He's not giving it back because you just indirectly challenged him. He's going to prove you wrong now.

Clearly, he's going to complain just for the sake of complaining and nothing more because it's Ichiru. ]

Alright.

[ No argument there as he takes the hammer from Zero's hand. He's probably seen people do this constantly. It shouldn't be hard to remember. ]

[ Seeing and doing are two different things Ichiru. Also - ]

Don't forget the ladder.

[ You'll need it to reach the spot you need to hammer in the banner.

[ He sees the ladder thanks. He's already moving towards it but it'd be nice if someone could hold it so he wouldn't fly to his death. ]

Will you at least hold it. I'd rather not repeat your ordeal.

[ Yes a jab but a gentle one possible. ]

[ Zero will grumble about it, but he had no intention of letting Ichiru on it without first securing the ladder himself. So, he's pulling it back up and setting it up for him. When he's ready he'll let Ichiru ascend while holding it in place. He might act like an ass but he'd never let you get hurt Ichiru. ]

[ Ichiru just sighs at his grumbling. In the end, he still did it. Really, Zero you really need to chill. He does end up ascending pretty easily compared to what initially could happen if he didn't take this a bit more seriously.

Once he gets on top, he starts hooking the banner in and getting ready to hammer. It can't be that hard... really. ]

[ From below: ]

Make sure to keep your balance.

[ Ichiru sighs as he hammers. Somehow he missed his hand and got the nail. Well there's that. IT was a bit clumsy but he thinks he got the idea somehow. ]

You should be more concerned about yourself than me.

Pay attention to what you're doing before you hurt yourself.

[ A reprimand. Eye on the prize, Ichiru. Eye on the prize. ]

I'm not a child.

[ He retorts as he manages to get the next one much easier. The rest of the process in of itself was starting to be easier as he continued on.

Seriously Zero, stop being a mother hen. ]

[ Never!

But he'll shut up after that. Letting him focus on the task at hand without anymore interruption. ]

[ This is gonna be endless isn't it?

good because he might just try to jump off that ladder to scare Zero but only not. He's too focused on getting this dumb banner on. Which isn't actually all that bad. He's starting to get the rhythm of things. ]

[ And so, the two manage to somehow get something done together. The banner announcing the Haunted House is soon secured and Zero has one less thing to worry about. ]

[ Ichiru jumps off the ladder after all that and admires his accomplishment. One of the few things he couldn't take was being told he couldn't do something or that he was incapable of doing it.

Not that Zero said those words. He took it as such and thus the results were almost remarkable. He's probably worked more than he had ever in his life. IT wasn't a bad feeling either. ]

Is that all?

There's still the decorations left.

[ He wasn't asking since maybe he was really in charitable mood right now. ]
