Here’s a question for you all: what do you think about death?

Considering the recent murders, I’d say it’s something to think about, isn’t it?

It truly brings in the question of whether or not death plays a relevant role here. People seem to be able to come back to life, but seems to go from god to shinki or even shinki to god. Regardless of the reason for the change in reversal, it seems that one element in particular remains missing: memories.

I’m curious as to why memories seem to be the important element in deciding between a god and a shinki aside from the obvious.

So, here’s another question: how many of you were previously shinki who became a god? If you don’t remember your time as a shinki, would you want those memories back?

What benefits would there be for killing a god? If it's to display that it's capable of killing a god, then that's not something that can be beneficial in the long run. It's not as if more power is granted by that.

Actually, starting isn't the hard part. It's my god power. I can make it happen, easy. It's surviving the journey.

It was apparently a shinki inciting the ayakashi - one of the older ones, not the new ones. That one's apparently out of the picture now, so for the moment we're likely back down to two groups that we know of.

Right. It'd make sense for it to be the same thing, or as much sense as anything here makes.

An older shinki incited the ayakashi? [...What the hell?] But if it is currently out of the picture, then I suppose we should focus more on the two groups.

Only problem really is being able to figure out where it's coming from.

It is troubling. I grant that the abilities shinki must use here seem very different from any technique they may have learnt prior, though. Perhaps the old Gods of this world fear that too much reliance on the things we remember from home may make us all less able to combat ayakashi? If that were to be the case then perhaps it makes sense to want us all to start from the ground up, though it seems no less of a phenomenal waste of abilities and talent.

I understand that one must be guarded, around shinki, simply for their own protection. It troubles me, though, that it should be necessary. It renders all partnerships between god and shinki entirely unbalanced. I feel gods get off extremely lightly.

Better question is how many people will be killed before they finally do slip up.

If that is the fear the old gods face then it's a stupid one. Making shinki a clean slate with only knowledge of their names and whatever else can prove to be more detrimental than them being fully aware of their true abilities. I'll agree that it's a waste.

You're a god who feels like that. What would you do to at least make the balance between god and shinki equal then?

for some, yes. shinki die and arrive on the far shore on a regular basis. it is different for gods, however; they do not need to cross over into the threshold of death to find themselves here. all of us know that. what are you trying to imply?

Death isn't permanent, but in order to be brought back, there's a price to be paid. But what about those who simply disappear and return? Could that be the same as death?

That's what I was told. So it should be out of the picture now.

It could be anywhere in this world, so there'd have to be a hell of a search in order to figure that much out.

I'll try to see if there's a way to narrow it down to a general area. Although, with everything that's been going on, it won't take too long before everyone becomes distracted by whatever happens next.

Exactly. It's going to take more than one person to even narrow it down, and we keep getting sidetracked by other problems.

There are some people I know who are also looking into this and helping, but it's only human nature to easily get distracted by something else that crosses their way.

I can't really argue with it, given the severity of some of those "distractions".

I agree. Though, I'm sure people will get distracted by something bigger soon.
