Here’s a question for you all: what do you think about death?

Considering the recent murders, I’d say it’s something to think about, isn’t it?

It truly brings in the question of whether or not death plays a relevant role here. People seem to be able to come back to life, but seems to go from god to shinki or even shinki to god. Regardless of the reason for the change in reversal, it seems that one element in particular remains missing: memories.

I’m curious as to why memories seem to be the important element in deciding between a god and a shinki aside from the obvious.

So, here’s another question: how many of you were previously shinki who became a god? If you don’t remember your time as a shinki, would you want those memories back?

How would handle replacement then? Better yet, what would you do if you were a shinki and another shinki has been placed under your god's care? What would you do?

Fifteen years--which means that's where we'll need to start looking at everything before that time period.

It wouldn't be surprising if she did. The title of 'Queen of Heavens' alone is enough to warrant unwanted attention.

Everything about that year was missing.

Maybe something actually happened between her and somebody else. An unfair or unjust ruling? It's hard to say anything for sure.

Disorder in the ranks perhaps? Whatever it was, it was bad enough that it got her killed and reincarnated.

Whatever it was they don't want us finding it. But they probably haven't destroyed everything.

It's just a matter of trying to find that.

knowledge and secrets are two very distinctly different things, mister or miss anonymous. one should be left public for all, and the other kept private among "friends". it is up to you to decide what our opinions qualify as.

Touché. If only I can trust anyone here to be regarded as "friends". Knowledge is secret and secret when told as truths is knowledge. My opinion matters not; it's merely a question of whether or not people might think our opinions are worthwhile.

a confidante, then? or another truthseeker, perhaps. regardless, you and I could go back and forth in this argument of semantics and still find ourselves no wiser for it. I hardly think that is what you are looking for, so perhaps a truce? I will give my opinion if you offer yours in return. think of it as the beginning of a healthy debate—should it come to that, of course.

Yes, it is. I think it also says that the gods cannot trust their servants any other way. The shinki are not ignorant children.

I would say, I hope that whoever chooses the pairings takes those things into consideration... but that may be a little too optimistic. If no one knows by now who makes these decisions, there may not be someone at all.

You're right, of course, and the last thing I want is to hurt my goddess.

There was apparently another party behind the string of suicides and the thing with the chocolates that had a similar effect a while ago as well. It's not like it hasn't been this kind of complicated before.

They are at least supposed to be looking for whatever's bringing us here, and it wouldn't be a surprise if it was the same thing.

True enough. Hasn't there been news as to what's been causing the suicides or is everyone sticking with the idea it's just been ayakashi going around doing those? With the way things are going so far, we might be dealing with several different parties that could have similar goals.

Not at all. Whatever brought us here surely would have enough energy to bring back memories or random items.

I'd argue with you on that account given that I have seen shinki that are children here; however, treating a vast majority of us as the same will only breed anger and that alone can start to cause unrest amongst us.

It may be a random selection of pairings. After all, it's not as if there's a particular pattern with how shinki are assigned to gods.

All I can recommend is being honest with yourself and your goddess. Being honest with one another is usually a good way to avoid hurting both parties even if some things are hard to say.

mmm depends if i have to one day or not. even if i lost my memories, my friends would still be my friends. Id have to make new ones with them.

Makes it all the more reason to seek it out more, doesn't it? I'm not sure that's the kind of hide and seek I'd want to play with you.

Would it still be worth it in the end if the course of your friendship changes?

Only if you see it that way. Everyone looks at the same thing differently!

Friendships always change. I believe in my friends, that even if I didn't remember them that we could reconnect and they would help me! I've seen it happen and I've seen some WIPs!

Perhaps. Is that how you view it?

What happens when you realize there's something more to that friendship, though? By gaining a fresher look at it, you realize that the reason why your friendship started before is due to a different reason than you thought it was?
