[ As the feed clicks on, it shows a young man with totally stylish and gravity-defying dirty blond hair in a black cloak sitting in some kind of papasan-style chair with an acoustic guitar in his lap. Demyx lazily plucks away at it, strumming out what sounds loosely like Modest Mouse’s “Float On”. ]

So, I finally did it!

[ Pausing from his strumming, he holds his wrist up the camera way too closely, turning it this way and that. ]

Look! See? No more name! Which means no more god. And no more work, no more training... which means no more gross sweating. Ew.

[ Seriously, call him when it’s winter, please. He pulls a face, but then sits back again and resumes strumming, picking back up where he left off. ]

Bishamonten says I’ve gotta get a new one, but maaaan... [ He sighs heavily, shoulders slumping. ] I just don’t wanna, yanno?

[ In truth, he’s still a little bummed that Riku basically shot him down. Now there was a god he could’ve gotten behind! But, oh well. He’s not going to mention that, or let it weigh on him much. Just means more vacation time for him, right? Right! Except... ]

But she says if I don’t do it myself they’ll just stick me with someone again. Someone who might not like me, like last time.

Man... can’t I just like, hang out here and play music, and not do combat stuff? I’m totally not comfortable with it anyway...

Our destinies are filled with mystery as well as pleasure and woe. You may find yourself with one suited to your desires or you may not. You may find one you are displeased with who will bring out your true potential and lead you to where it is you were meant to.

Be it destiny, or your own doing, you will find your place in the afterlife, of this I am certain. If you are strong enough, reach out and choose your own god.

[Says the man shot down a few times now.]

[ Give Demyx a moment to just... quietly blink at all of that while he processes it. ]

Uh... yeah, man. Totally!

[ A thumbs up here. ] That's kinda why I'm doing this, yknow? To like... put the word out, see if another god wants me and stuff.

Then I wish you well in your search. May the heavens shine upon you and may your bonds with your new god be stronger than ever. Forever let the lands of mortals sing your songs and let the truth of your destiny forge a new future.

If you are fated for strife, though, show your mettle and soldier through it. If destiny won't give you want you want, take the reigns and rework the heavens themselves to suit your purpose.

[ Demyx blinks more. This guy is, like, super hardcore... ]

Ah, right... Yeah! I’ve got this! No biggie!

[ And that’s really all he’s got on that. ]

It is as you say. Though I must know, if just for my own curiosity, how long have you been a shinki, a vessel to the gods, a weapon against the tides of ayakashi?

[Not that Owain's worried about being foreveralone.jpeg or that it might not work out time and again, but...]

[ Demyx shrugs aimlessly, strumming out a few notes. ] I dunno, like... a few months?

[ Time is hard to keep track of here; worse when you're him. ]

Why? Are you new?

I am fairly new to this existence, yes.

[That is probably the simplest he's going to answer anything.]

You just peaked my curiosity on the subject of our mercurial bonds with the gods.

[ Oh boy. That'll make this conversation... interesting, to say the least. ]

Mer-what-ial? What's that mean?

[A pause.]

Capricious? Every changing and unpredictable as designed by the fates that lead us that the powers that guide us through this world and the next.

[ ...OH. ] Riiight!

Yeah man, gods come and go, sometimes don't tell anybody... it's a bummer!

It is that in deed, a bummer. I suppose though that like any challenge before us, we must meet it and better it each and every step of the way.
