[ As the feed clicks on, it shows a young man with totally stylish and gravity-defying dirty blond hair in a black cloak sitting in some kind of papasan-style chair with an acoustic guitar in his lap. Demyx lazily plucks away at it, strumming out what sounds loosely like Modest Mouse’s “Float On”. ]
So, I finally did it!
[ Pausing from his strumming, he holds his wrist up the camera way too closely, turning it this way and that. ]
Look! See? No more name! Which means no more god. And no more work, no more training... which means no more gross sweating. Ew.
[ Seriously, call him when it’s winter, please. He pulls a face, but then sits back again and resumes strumming, picking back up where he left off. ]
Bishamonten says I’ve gotta get a new one, but maaaan... [ He sighs heavily, shoulders slumping. ] I just don’t wanna, yanno?
[ In truth, he’s still a little bummed that Riku basically shot him down. Now there was a god he could’ve gotten behind! But, oh well. He’s not going to mention that, or let it weigh on him much. Just means more vacation time for him, right? Right! Except... ]
But she says if I don’t do it myself they’ll just stick me with someone again. Someone who might not like me, like last time.
Man... can’t I just like, hang out here and play music, and not do combat stuff? I’m totally not comfortable with it anyway...

So, in the end, his decision was easy -- Bishamon only helped that along. ]
Yeah... it was a huge bummer to do it, but at least now I get to kick back and relax, play music, and figure the whole god thing out whenever.
[ He guffaws loudly. ] Haha! With how many shinki you have they'd have to, like, take turns or something!
[ There's a pause. ]
Ah, right... um... [ Demyx scratches his cheek a bit. ] So... thanks for helping me out and stuff.

[ And a small shake of her head though. ]
Not every shinki is suited for combat. Some don't have the right mindset. Others have talents best suited elsewhere. I'm certain you'll be able to find your niche in time.
But think nothing of it. My doors will always be open to you should you or your newfound god ever have need of me in some way.

Yeah! I have some friends who don't do combat stuff; they're like, backup shinki! For extra stuff! [ His thoughts instinctively flit to Eno, of course. ] I wanna be like that.
[ He'll find the right god -- he just knows it.
In the meantime, she with her kindness... Demyx has never wanted to hug someone so badly before, but boy does he ever right now! He looks back at her with -- well, it's as close to humbled awe as this shinki can get, safe to say. ]
Awesome! You're the best, Bishamon.
[ Something on his face says that he actually, really means that. ]

Shinki have a myriad of uses. You're all different, after all. While some are more suited to combat, there are others who aren't.
[ Also stop that you're just going to make her want to adopt you... not that she hasn't had the urge yet. But there's a shake of her head and a smile back. ]
Think nothing of it. I'm just grateful in turn that you took my advice about being released. The number of shinki willing to be strays has been alarming as of late... though I also have to thank you for helping me understand why they choose to do so.

Demyx nods along with what she's saying, without doing so sarcastically. Honestly, it's nice to hear a god explain, as though they truly get it. It's really a shame she's got so many shinki already, otherwise he'd join up with her in a heartbeat.
And he's not just saying that because he's about to be housed under her roof, eating her food, and so on -- he sincerely means it. Cherish the thought. ]
Yeah, it was totally awkward to do -- like, I wasn't comfortable at all with that, but... I did it! And it kinda wasn't that bad.
[ Plus now he gets the satisfaction that comes with being proud of himself for doing The Thing. ]
Totally better than being hated as a nora.
[ Though now he's scrutinized for being godless, so... siiiigh. There's no pleasing some people, is there? ]
no subject
[ And he should be, too! That was no mean feat given how he described their relationship. ]
In the long run, it'll be better for you than being a nora. For now... have you made arrangements with anyone?
no subject
But when she mentions 'arrangements', his expression shifts dramatically, falling some. ]
Not yet... [ He scratches his cheek thoughtfully. ] I kinda tried, but he shot me down. Total bummer...
[ It does make him sad, definitely. Of course, by the time they finish this conversation, he'll be paired up with a new god -- one who'll work out even better for him. So all's well that ends well! ]
