I know that adjusting to a new name is a serious undertaking for most people, but the common use of an individual's god name does not seem to be wide spread. Admittedly, my sample size is still relatively small, but most of the other gods I have met thus far have introduced themselves with their mortal names first, and then given their god name second. Is this because many have not yet adjusted to the new name, or are we not supposed to use our god names?

I'm making the adjustment myself, and I think it would be easier if I was a little more informed about what my relationship with my god name is meant to be. I, personally, am perfectly comfortable with dropping my old title in favor of Hermes, but if it's something meant for followers only, I can adjust my expectations accordingly.

I prefer to keep my godly name associated with godly duties. To reinforce the line separating work and home lives, if you will.

I don't think I have ever experienced a separation between my work life and my home life to be honest.

There's no time like the present to try it! If you don't like it, there's nothing stopping you from letting your separate lives merge back together.

But how? I don't have any hobbies that don't in some way relate back to work.

It takes a lot of time and experimentation. I enjoy video games, for example, so that's a hobby I tend to keep restricted to my free time.

[Which is an absolutely terrible example to use right now, but it's not like anyone here would know, so he'll just bottle it up for later.]

Are there games you recommend? I have never bothered to play video games, although I have heard they can be good hand-eye coordination, reflex, and strategic planning training.

You've heard correctly. I'm not sure how many games from my home they have here, but Mario Kart--the game Sora mentioned the other day--is a car racing game which you might find compelling. You choose characters and cars based on your preferences for acceleration, top speed, maneuverability, and weight, and receive a variety of items throughout the race which, when used properly, can help you or hinder your opponents. I'm sure he wouldn't mind letting you try it.

That does sound like something I would enjoy. It might not be something I could consider completely separate from my work life, however, which I believe is the intent of this exercise.

Perhaps I should invest more time in the literary aspect of my divine responsibilities.

I believe you're onto something. There are even more kinds of books than there are video games. Do you have any idea what kinds of stories you like?

Right now, I mostly read instruction manuals, textbooks, and health magazines.

I suppose rags to riches wouldn't be out of line. I can relate to that narrative slightly, if nothing else.

I think we could find you some rags to riches stories, or at the very least a great deal of stories where normal people become heroes and royalty and the like.

I imagine that's close enough. Although I would settle for just being recognized and appreciated, personally speaking.

Who wouldn't love the opportunity to guide someone into discovering the wonders of their favorite topic? For them, you're practically a blank slate.

I'll have to set aside time to visit Menrva's temple at some point, then. There is enough information online that I could guide myself, but making positive connections is important.
