I know that adjusting to a new name is a serious undertaking for most people, but the common use of an individual's god name does not seem to be wide spread. Admittedly, my sample size is still relatively small, but most of the other gods I have met thus far have introduced themselves with their mortal names first, and then given their god name second. Is this because many have not yet adjusted to the new name, or are we not supposed to use our god names?

I'm making the adjustment myself, and I think it would be easier if I was a little more informed about what my relationship with my god name is meant to be. I, personally, am perfectly comfortable with dropping my old title in favor of Hermes, but if it's something meant for followers only, I can adjust my expectations accordingly.

i've received nicknames, but it's not the same thing. your way of thinking makes a lot of sense now that you explained it! you're not just thinking of your present self, but what you can become in the future. humans evolve every day, don't they? just as bodies grow and change, identities have their own evolution process depending on someone's personal growth

That's exactly it. Becoming Hermes is just another stage in my life. Right now, I don't have the knowledge or experience to fulfill the legacy left by the previous incarnation, but with time and effort, I can build my own legacy on his foundation.

Thank you for your support, Sheryl Nome. I was beginning to feel as if I was doing something wrong.

it's better to build your own legacy, no matter what. that way when you have your identity all established, others will have something to remember you by once you come into contact with them

at least you know hard work is important. most people take that for granted sooooo much and it gets lame seeing it being misconstructed over and over =_=

[Responding to this is probably one of the hardest things he's done today. There are a lot of emotions he's not all that comfortable dealing with, the sort of emotions that could be considered a weakness, vulnerabilities.]

I spent a lot of my childhood skating by on talent, I admit. That's not to say I didn't do my best, but with the experience I have now, I know the difference between talent and hard work. And knowing what I want to achieve makes it easier to work hard.

you can be blessed by talent by birth, but like a plant that needs water to grow and be nourished, you need to work hard to maintain it. what good is it if there's no passion?

For a long time, I thought all I needed to live a fulfilled was to be gainfully employed. That being recognized for my skills was enough.

But because I never had to try, I never really felt anything. I kept looking for a challenge, something to excite me. I thought I found someone I could really test myself on, but...

Lately, I'm not so sure.
