I haven't been here long but my god vanished before I ever got to meet him which makes me wonder: what the hell is a shinki good for? What are we supposed to do? Is there any point in serving a god if they can just vanish?

This thing with serving sounds very unequal. I would be more happy if any shinki of mine saw themselves as my equal and as friend. Isn't that better? To be friends and partners, instead of master and servant?

From what I gathered though, a god can't kill an ayakashi on their own, so it's not like we're much use without your help.

Word choice doesn't bother me, since any god who thinks I'm going to be mindlessly subservient is in for a rude awakening.

Having a mindlessly subservient shinki wouldn't be very fun either way. I don't get why anyone would want that.

Yeah, and because apparently we can't kill ayakashi without the help of a shinki. But for that I heard the same goes for shinki, that you need help from a god to do that, too.
