It appears I am like a sword without a hand to wield it. My goddess has departed, leaving only a letter of farewell and freeing me of the bonds that tie shinki to god.

Without direction, I wonder if it is best to take my sword and hunt ayakashi until my path reveals itself. I am told I cannot rid the land of their existence myself, but that I may weaken them for others. Maybe this is my true fate, to be a lone weapon, unfettered of my duty and facing evil in the darkness.

I know not my path but I am open to hearing the thoughts of those more experienced in this existence as well as others of strong opinion.

Alas, my time here has been short and the number of gods I could call upon are limited. I know not if any are suited for the task!

I may not even find battle before such a time as I am bound, but it is not beyond the range of possibilities. I would not turn down such a challenge. I could not.

Gods can have as many shinki as they want, just as they can always release them again. There's no reason to get into a fight without having been named.

I... I am speaking normally my friend. Though the words matter little as the intent is clear. I do not fear a fight without being named and bound, though I will take your words to heart and think long and hard before taking up such a challenge.

Until then, I'll see what the gods have in store for me. Are you such a god or do you follow one yourself?

Nah, I'm not a god. I just don't see a reason to 'see what they have in store' when all the gods are around you. You can just talk to and ask them about this.

Just don't go ahead into things that you'll probably regret.

I did think this method would bring haste to my search for a god interested in my talents. Maybe meeting such beings face to face will expedite this instead.

[Oops. Well, he was tempted to test out what an ayakashi was but he's gotten enough warnings to realize that's a mistake already.

This whole damn thing was just for the attention of getting a new god, wasn't it? Y'know, if I didn't hate violence, I'd want to kick the shit outta you.

Also it was trying to get advice as to what does it mean if you don't have a god. But yeah, it's definitely an over dramatic way of asking "what do you do when your god ditches you."]

No... I mean, not just about such.

You know you could've just asked for what you wanted to know instead of making it sound like you were gonna go straight into danger. People here are pretty straight-forward about that kinda stuff.

Well, I did wish to test myself against these ayakashi. Even if I can't slay them with the powers given only to gods wielding us as tools, I wish to see if my sword can truly keep them at bay.

But then again, like three people told him that's a bad idea on the message board before Shizuo messaged him, so he's sorta given up on that idea.]

It is not to be though, as I must now seek out those gods first.

You're telling me you never made friends or talked to other gods?

I have met a couple, briefly... I believe. I did not ask which were gods but I assume...

Since I have been cut loose, I have taken to exploring the far shore in hopes destiny would grab me. I have yet to find such though so took to this tool to let my presence be known!

It's fine to take more direct actions instead of hoping things go the way you want... Though it's possible that you really will just get set up with another god without doing anything.

[ If it happens when they first show up, then why not when you just have no one else? ]

If that is what the heavens ordain, then I am not opposed. Others hint that some pairings are not so beneficial though. So I wonder if I should pursue this or leave it to fate.

I think someone tries to make sure people know they can ask to be released too. It's all up to you at that point.

They can? That does bring ease to the choices before me. A far less permanent arrangement might be useful.

I mean, you can't force them, so it's still up to them whether to keep you bound or not. Nothing lost in asking if it's just not working out, though.

I am sure if it is destined to work out, I will find the right god and they will have the power within to match my own.
